This certainly puts the lie to the "fact" that only the GOP is corrupt doesn't it? It sure seems that both parties could use a good cleaning out. Did he actually do something for this money or did he just stick it in his freezer? This political corruption issue (not just this particular issue, though it certainly seems to qualify) needs to be addressed by the only people who can address it. The grassroots voters. It is time and past time for us, and I include myself; to wake from our complacency and foment change. Start by tossing the rascals out, and instituting term limits.
The founding fathers never invisioned professional politicians, or I am sure they would have mentioned it in the constitution.

ya did did something for the money....

note though that where the republicans had a willing briber and made sure that all benefited from their scheme (except your average citizen, and indian tribe!!!), Congressman William Jefferson is said to have DEMANDED his bribes!! lol...

Pfeffer has pled guilty of assisting Jefferson with these bribes and has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors and testify if needed.

"Pfeffer said in court that a congressman had solicited his assistance in promoting business opportunities in Nigeria and Ghana. The congressmen demanded 5 percent to 7 percent of the newly formed African companies in exchange for his help promoting the deal to African government officials and others, according to Pfeffer.

Prosecutor Mark Lytle said the congressman and Pfeffer traveled to Ghana in July to promote a similar deal there.";_ylt=Au_ZzruiFuu90sg_kq1_moes0NUE;_ylu=X3o'___'A3b2NibDltBHNlYwM3MTY-

ya he did something spent a little tax money taking nice trips setting telecom deals in african countries...

love the part about the money in the freezer bit, maybe this is why the guy was so anxious to get home after katrina that he misused national guardsmen to get there. wouldn't want some homeless, hungry hurricane victim to come along and try to get a bite to eat out of his fridge!!!
