The Residents - Elvis And His Boss

Oh, I'm gonna be my baby, baby
Baby, but you see
My momma said
My momma said
My momma said to me
"My son I see the sunset lies
About a baby bee."
So if you see me
I'll be standing
Out on ole Broadway
Amused, abused, but not confused
I'm making my own way
Straight to the top
I'll never stop
I'll die before my day

Her milk is my ****
My **** it is her milk

Any bluegrass fans out there?

Whiskey Before Breakfast

Early one day the sun wouldn't shine
I was walking down the street not feeling too fine
I saw two old men with a bottle between 'em
And this was the song that I heard them singing

Lord preserve us and protect us,
We've been drinking whiskey 'fore breakfast

Well I stopped by the steps where they was sitting
And I couldn't believe how drunk they were getting
I said "old men, have you been drinking long?"
They said "just long enough to be singing this song"

Lord preserve us and protect us,
We've been drinking whiskey 'fore breakfast

Well they passed me the bottle and I took a little sip
And it felt so good I just couldn't quit
I drank some more and next thing I knew
There were three of us sitting there sining this tune

Lord preserve us and protect us,
We've been drinking whiskey 'fore breakfast

One by one everybody in the town
They heard our ruckus and they all came down
And pretty soon all the streets were ringing
With the sound of the whole town laughing and singing

Lord preserve us and protect us,
We've been drinking whiskey 'fore breakfast

Lord preserve us and protect us,
We've been drinking whiskey 'fore breakfast

Gotta love the Rez. Saw 'em last year at the 'Way We Were ' tour here in Oz. Had only waited 15 years to see them. They didn't disappoint. Truly something out of this world.

Seriously, thanks, everyone needs a little trace of metal in their brain now and again
and today I certainly needed something.

I am supposed to go to a CD release party this weekend and I am just not psyched...it's metal...but it's ...it's....well hell, I don't know...maybe I should try to go with a more open mind. The band is pretty nice guys I guess so we'll see what the CD holds...

not that IU have anything against HW Sr or JC...I just needed *Something* different today...

though sneaker pimps...lyricas are fine, but I've never heard of them. Must be deeply indie

sneaker pimps suck now they got rid of the female vocalist and now have some dude singing for past 2 or 3 records. Good back in becoming X days that type of music is more electronica/triphop i guess.

Otep yes.
I can listen to Otep all day. Quickly becoming one of my fav bands.

Who YOU calling old?! ...didn't you graduate in like the 60's or something?
Guess VGS keeps you well preserved

Seriously though...if you are going to post a song, you should give credit where credit is due...am I right? Am I right?

I know...
OK OK (Please don't hurt me TC!)

I don't *usually* like female vocalists...and never heard sneaker pimps to begin with...

but Otep did me well yesterday...so thanks. I think I'll start a new threead though because we seem to be talking music and posting songs and I feel bad because some people do stick to topic and post their favorite "quote" maybe we should have a "What I'm listening to RIGHT NOW " type thread? Or is there one I should be hanging out on already?

"Bodies" by Drowning Pool

Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor Beaten why for
Can't take much more
One - Nothing wrong with me
Two - Nothing wrong with me
Three - Nothing wrong with me
Four - Nothing wrong with me
One - Something's got to give
Two - Something's got to give
Three - Something's got to give
Now
Let the bodies hit the floor
Push me again
This is the end
Skin against skin blood and bone
You're all by yourself but you're not alone
You wanted in now you're here
Driven by hate consumed by fear
Let the bodies hit the floor

ah...it's simple but it says so much...and so well...

I can even have sex listnening to this...

(I do not know why-must be the music not the lyrical content
)

I feel silly... Who the heck is G-N-R?

I tried figuring it out on my own so I wouldn't have to ask... But failed miserably.

Still on my bluegrass trip as we speak...

Pop Quiz... Can you name this band by seeing their album cover. It's tricky.

:shk:

My Michelle - Guns 'n' Roses

Your daddy works in porno
Now that mommy's not around
She used to love her heroine
But now she's underground
So you stay out late at night
And you do your coke for free
Drivin' your friends crazy
With your life's insanity

Well, well, well you just can't tell
Well, well, well my Michelle

Sowin' all your wild oats
In another's luxuries
Yesterday was Tuesday
Maybe Thursday you can sleep
But school starts much too early
And this hotel wasn't free
So party till your connection calls
Honey I'll return the keys

Chorus:

Well, well, well you just can't tell
Well, well, well my Michelle
Well, well, well you never can tell
Well, well, well my Michelle

Evryone needs love
You know that it's true
Someday you'll find someone
That'll fall in love with you
But oh the time it takes
When you're all alone
Someday you'll find someone
That you can call your own
But till then ya better...

Now you're clean
And so discreet
I won't say a word
But most of all this song is true
Case you haven't heard
So c'mon and stop your cryin'
'Cause we both now money burns
Honey don't stop tryin';
An' you'll get what you deserve

Nah.. It's a bluegrass band from Colorado called "Leftover Salmon." I just downloaded their new live CD from Itunes last night. Can't seem to get enough of it.

Think2much,

You should check it out. I guarantee it makes ya smile. It's a toe tapper.

So who is G-N-R?

*edit*

Ahhhh.. I feel really slow now... Guns n' roses...

Thanks Sailor-I did and yep...
right up my alley...well most music is, but you know what I mean...I can definately appreciate it-the sound...can't believe I've never heard of them though! I just read there is a DVD going to be released on them this summer...

I downloaded a few tunes myself...I seem to be partial to two songs right off the go..."Get off this" and "This is the time"...hmmm...good stuff...

I've played Drowning Pool as posted like 5 times today though
Wh at a nice mix between them and leftover salmon! but hey whatever makes me happy!

In this proud land we grew up strong
We were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought i could fail

No fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, i've changed my name
But no one wants you when you lose

Don't give up
'cos you have friends
Don't give up
You're not beaten yet
Don't give up
I know you can make it good

Though i saw it all around
Never thought i could be affected
Thought that we'd be the last to go
It is so strange the way things turn

Drove the night toward my home
The place that i was born, on the lakeside
As daylight broke, i saw the earth
The trees had burned down to the ground

Don't give up
You still have us
Don't give up
We don't need much of anything
Don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
Where we belong

Rest your head
You worry too much
It's going to be alright
When times get rough
You can fall back on us
Don't give up
Please don't give up

'got to walk out of here
I can't take anymore
Going to stand on that bridge
Keep my eyes down below

Whatever may come
And whatever may go
That river's flowing
That river's flowing

Moved on to another town
Tried hard to settle down
For every job, so many men
So many men no-one needs

Don't give up
'cause you have friends
Don't give up
You're not the only one
Don't give up
No reason to be ashamed
Don't give up
You still have us
Don't give up now
We're proud of who you are
Don't give up
You know it's never been easy
Don't give up
'cause i believe there's the a place
There's a place where we belong.

"The String Cheese Incident."

"Lost"

She was a smart girl
But she didn't think
The well was full
Still there's nothing to drink
Got some money
Still it don't add up
How a girl like this can spend her life
Drinking from an empty cup
She's lost, la, la, la, lost

Got a friend
who works too much
Trying hard to find the end to the means
Came from nothing
Has got nothing to lose
Except he’s losing sight of what is true in all his busy life
that boy’s Lost, la, la, la, lost
that boy’s Lost, la, la, la, lost
Maybe it's me but I can't see
Why sometimes we choose to be blind
Looking away going day by day
And stumbling' around in the dark

Spend our lives
Wasting time
running hard

Still behind
So afraid
Of slowing down
Got to Stop and take a look around and see what can be found
Lost, la, la, la, lost
Lost, la, la, la, la, lost
