Does God answer your prayers?

A few months ago God answered a prayer.

This was no joke. I am wondering has anybody else asked God for a sign and had it answered.
Be honest!
btw what do you make of this was it a sign or coincidence?

When I came upon your question about whether God answers prayers, I was, ironically, listening to a song that answered exactly that question. The song is by an American folk-rock musician named Dan Bern. While many not know his work, all that I can say is that he has an international cult following. Currently being produced by Ani DiFranco's indie label, Dan does quite a bit of touring across North America and Europe.

But, back to this song of Dan's, "The Good News and the Bad News About God"

I prayed when i used to believe in god, nothing ever happened. but i'm an athiest now, and it seems my life is way better now than it was when i believed in god.

I haven't heard of D. Bern, but those lyrics were some of the most creative ones Iv'e read in a long time. I hope Hastings has his CDs.

To the topic; I used to try and make deals with God in my prayers. No wonder my prayers weren't answered. I always reneged on my part of the deal. Times have changed.

The other day I was sitting downstairs reading Bruce Wilkinson’s “The Prayer of Jabez.” Right in the middle of the book, he quoted Exodus 33:18 which says, “Now Moses said, ‘Show me Your glory.’”
The stereo was on upstairs and I could barely hear it, but right at the EXACT moment that I read the phrase “show me your glory,” the song “Show Me Your Glory” by Third Day was playing and that same phrase played at the EXACT same moment that I read the phrase in the book! Talk about showing me His glory!!!

As I was reading my devotionals one day, this verse was included:
Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (NKJ)
The song “Carry Me” by Amy Grant was on the radio upstairs; the lyrics go “Lay down your burden, I will carry you, I will carry you, my child…”

Just as I read the word ‘burden’ in the verse, the word ‘burden’ from the song played at the exact same moment!

You know why that is? God is partial to atheists, he pays a little extra time looking after them.

Seriously, I have had every prayer I have made in at least the last 15 years answered. And that is hundreds of prayers.
Of course, my prayer is quite simple.
"thank you, and thy will be done."
If there is a God, thats all I want to say to him.

God has spent the last year smacking me in the back of the head, and not answering anything I asked him for, so I'm rapidly giving up on religion and asking for things.
