Some 100 people were evacuated from a San Francisco Starbucks on Monday, after an employee discovered an unconcealed explosive device on the bathroom
floor of the coffee shop. A police bomb squad was able to successfully diffuse the device. No injuries were reported.
A Starbucks employee found the device about 1:15 p.m. (4:15 p.m. ET) on the coffee shop's bathroom floor, police spokesman Neville Gittens said.
"If it had detonated, it would have caused damage," Gittens said. "It was what we consider an IED," an improvised explosive device.
The device was not concealed, he said. Gittens would not describe the explosive's appearance.

It is interesting that this has not gotten the type of TV coverage one might otherwise expect.
Also, I suppose it is only a matter of time before these types of incidents become more commonplace.
It will be interesting to follow the details of this story and learn of the intent of the bomber(s). Is this a crime or a terrorist act? How will the
story be spun?
