No proof, just ties to NT and OT prophesy of the end times.

I will be the first to admit, though, that we probably have it wrong. The Jews 2000 years ago knew what the messiah would be like, without question, based on the prophesies. They knew He would be a military conqueror, He would make Israel great and give them the world, and other misconceptions. They still know this, 2000 years after they missed His coming. They're also taught (at least according to a Jewish priest (different than rabbi) I know and have talked to about this) not to read the prophesies themselves because they could misinterpret them and think that someone else, such as Jesus, is the Christ. Only after you're taught and taught how to interpret the scriptures are you to go and read Isaiah, Daniel, or Jeremiah.

The reason the worthless shepherd is tied to the Anti-Christ, though, is due to all of the similarities. Revelation 13:3, 13:12, and 13:14 talks about the beast whose head was fatally wounded but was healed. Revelation 13 also talks about a beast whose power causes people to follow him, thinking who can wage war against him.

Revelation 13:6-8:
6He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.


Sounds like a pretty worthless shepherd to me, leading people to damnation.


EDIT: However, Sharon just moved his left hand and has been moving his right side. This may be moot

Comatose Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is to undergo head surgery on Tuesday, hospital officials in Jerusalem say.
They said the operation was aimed at restoring part of his skull, removed during previous surgery after he suffered a massive stroke on 4 January.


He's been comatose, and out of commission for months. It this operation restores him to his previous self, It would be very intersting.

Sharon has remained in a long-term care centre since 6 November 2006.[18]. Medical experts have indicated that Sharon's cognitive abilities were destroyed by the massive stroke, and that he is in a persistent vegetative state with extremely slim chances of regaining consciousness.

On 13 April 2007, it was reported that Sharon's condition had slightly improved and that according to his son, Omri, he was marginally responsive.[19]

ive been thinking the same for a long time... sharon has a head wound, and the entire world has forgoten about him. if he is to make a recovery, ppl would be amazed that he came back from the dead.

also we have to remember that one of the anichrists abilities is to make war... israel has shown many times that it is capable and willing to do so... so it will be very interesting to see how this plays out in real life...

I guess I don't have anything to say in response as I agree with Super MOD, Rome is the seat of the Anti and the head (Pope) was mortally wounded EXACTLY as Daniel said he would and then reinstated as Daniel said and then the WHOLE WORLD (Recall Pope John Paul 2 and the many accolades to him Russia, Poland etc.) would marvel after the Beast...

The Pope was removed and all lands and power taken by Napoleon, Mussolini reinstated it right before WW2 and gave the papacy the city again as a private Nation...

Remember Daniel's other prophecies on the statue that Nebuchadnezzar saw in a dream the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Iron and the last was Iron and Clay and it smites the whole system when broken at the feet by a ROCK that no man cutteth with his hands. We know Iron was Roman Empire so the Iron and Clay is Rome and ??? I say it's America that is the clay mixed in but we shall see.

Great job DBates it is good to know some of the MODS are Biblically literate!

I don't know why this false teaching is so prevalent. I've studied the Bible in original languages for years. This popular teaching is wrong. We are told that Antichrist is a descendant of the Roman Empire, NOT that he is from Rome (Europe) or that he is European.

One of many false teachings that are rampant these days. The Biblical truth of the verses in question is that the Antichrist will have European descent (as in genetic material - like being white for example) from either one or both parents.

We are told that this person comes from the Romans, NOT that he is Roman. Two different things and it is of great significance. It is saying that it's a person that has white parents or a white parent. The pope and Rome being tied to this part of the Bible is pure speculation.
