slipping through the watchdog radar of faction two is an ugly new law that requires u to use u real name if u post anything on the internet. this is a direct assault on the bill of rights and americans civil liberties and an attack on websites like this one, prisonplanet.com, rumormillnews.com, rense.com, and more. if ur online posting is possibly annoying to any party it is now a federal crime to do it under an anonymous name like the one u use here an now on abovetopsecrets.com

hammeroftruth.com... how many of you have created posts that are annoying to the us federal government? as of last week, you are now breaking to law to make your posts and be annoying to those who are annoying us. i find the whitehouse website to be annoying? can I sue them for annoying me?

the new law says:

“Whoever…utilizes any device or software that can be used to originate telecommunications or other types of communications that are transmitted, in whole or in part, by the Internet… without disclosing his identity and with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any person…who receives the communications…shall be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

this is not a new effort to protect amercian citizens from cyberstalking, it is a direct attack on websites like this and our freedoms to meet peacibly and discuss our grievances with the government. if u flame on ATS, you're one of them, and if you're one of them, you're not one of us.

(a) Prohibited acts generally
Whoever—
...

(C) makes a telephone call or utilizes a telecommunications device, whether or not conversation or communication ensues, without disclosing his identity and with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any person at the called number or who receives the communications;

...in the case of subparagraph (C) of subsection (a)(1), includes any device or software that can be used to originate telecommunications or other types of communications that are transmitted, in whole or in part, by the Internet (as such term is defined in section 1104 of the Internet Tax Freedom Act (47 U.S.C. 151 note)).'.

...

(2) knowingly permits any telecommunications facility under his control to be used for any activity prohibited by paragraph (1) with the intent that it be used for such activity,

...shall be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

This law can not possibly be enforced on a national scale. It will, however, be used to target nefarious dissenters and freedom haters.

It's systematically done this way so as not to raise many eyebrows, except those of said freedom haters and terrorists.

I think this law is for phone calls/faxes etc. If you aren't dialing a number, then I don't think you have anything to worry about.

No, the amendment clearly states "or other types of communications that are transmitted, in whole or in part, by the Internet ..."
