The Yin and Yang introduces us to some simplistic concepts.

Consider the divergence and union of it, and ask yourself which one describes you best at this particular moment.

Which one are you?:

1) The light in the darkness
2) The light that encompasses the darkness
3) The darkness that surrounds the light
4) The darkness encompassed by the light

Although my avatar may not be consistant in your view of what i think i am, i offer a 5th option:

5) Are you one who can confirm the previous 4 are true, and do in fact exist?

Just as all the colors of the rainbow make the light, there is no black.

Black is merely the absense of light much as the cold is merely the absense of heat.

White is to be..black is to not be. White is life, black is death.

Ying and Yang is the circle of life.

Peace

And yet, before the light existed, the darkness was conscious enough to observe there was no light, and then created light, not once, but twice.

So, was the darkness light?

Not to sound belittling, I respect your contribution. Discussing intangibles with the minds of mortals can be speculation. Thanks for your thoughts, and nice avatar

I've always been interested by Taoist duality; while I have some issues with the other tenets of the faith, I certainly believe that there is a lot to be learned from the cosmic model of the Yin and Yang, as well as several other aspects of Taoism.

Personally, I feel that the forces of Yin are stronger in myself; I tend toward darkness, brooding, passiveness, and receptivity as opposed to light, action, or projection. I am that innocuous shadow that will grow with the coming of the night, the infinite potentiality of nothingness.

There is no such thing as cold, merely the absense of heat.

There is no such thing as darkness, merely the absense of light.

To know your in the dark, was to have been in the light.

consciousness itself is enlightenment, to comprehend the dark is light?

I like.

You can comprehend the dark, from the light, and even have comprehension in darkness. Comprehesion neither needs darkness or lightness. That is where I believe creation came from.

That there was the inanimate which equated to the elements.
And there was the consciounce, which equates to God. A ying and yang of sorts.

God, being on, and the elements, being off, made a balance. The inanimate became the animate through life created by the awareness of God. The awareness of God was love, an emotion that was neither dark nor light.
The balance of life or not life, and the creation of love, was an offset of the ying and the yang.

Something to ponder..

Peace

I am in the shadows seeking light. I myself am not the source of light, but merely a bystander being dimly illuminated.

I am the yin. And I am the yang.

I am Gemini.

Hear me laugh.

Hear me roar.

Trust me folks, there's no one more complex and insane than the average Gemini.

Ironic. Some of the posts you have made have been the light that illuminates me. Bystander? Not always Spam. I'm sure it sounds weird to hear this from me, but often i thought you were indeed the light.

I don't think so. I thought it was an understatement. I have the highest regard for people who make me think. And you my friend seldom fail me in that regard.

Now enough of this, before someone tells us to get a room, or something.

Later Spam,
John

Of course you make me think, but Geminis laugh when i roar and roar when i laugh, they seem to come at me from two directions at once.

Don't want to upset their yin, or their yang, so i tend to shy away. ...

So what do I do for you, my friend?

Make your ears smoke? Your brain go on lock-down?

Our paths are (to me) percieved as so parrallel, i just "get you" about 90 to 95% of the time. The other 5-10% of the time i can simultaneously see what you are saying from so many different angles, it is just so sublime in its lucidity and simplicity that your words simply make me glow, it is just undescribably beautiful. I don't know you personally, but i love the way you think.

Hope this help you understand what it is you mean to me. Thanks for choosing to be you.

You aren't a Gemini, are you?
