Hitler was a National Socialist, who believed that democracy renders a nation weak because minorities are all weak according to him.

BTW National Socialism is commonly known as Nazism.

I beg to differ.

1. Hitler and his corporate backers used Germany's National Socialist Party.

2. They took over the party - and quickly superimposed their own fascist agenda - NOT socialist agenda.

Mussolini put it best:

Communism is when the government owns the corporations;

Fascism is when the corporations own the government.

Hitler was a fascist, and his government was a fascist government. The party name was only a name and did NOT reflect the reality.

I hate using Nazi examples, but they are the most commonly known. Hitler's henchmen fabricated the crisis that resulted in his (and their) rise to power.

Why is it that there are people who always try to "tie in the nazis to the U.S."?.....

I wasn't trying to tie nazis to the US, hence the introduction about hating to use the example. But some people simply will not accept that there are power hungry individuals out there willing to do anything to gain power unless you rub an example in their face. Hitler fabricated a crisis which was blamed on others in order to raise his power level. This formula works, and should be given serious consideration.

Osama Bin Laden has more experience in hiding than Saddam ever did....Saddam had been living in palaces most of his adult life and he didn't want to leave that way of life. Osama has been willing to leave all conforts to fight for his dellusional antics.... There is a big difference. Someone who is not used to hiding is easily captured.

Where did you get you information about Osama?

Osama played a role in driving the Russians out of Afghanistan. He has plenty of experience of preservation on the field of battle. When you are part of an insurgency to drive out a major superpower like the Russians in such a wild place, then hiding becomes preservation.

soficrow, the facts are that Hitler was a national socialist who believed democracy only weakened a country, because minorities were weak. You can see some of the roots of socialism, althou Hitler hated "true" socialism as much as he hated democracy because they both gave some power to the minorities, in Hitler Youth camps, which in the later 1920s was made compulsory and every young boy or young girl until age 18 had to attend for "the good of Germany", to maintain the country strong.

You can find similar Youth Camps in true socialist/communist countries.

Hitler's government was one of socialism but only for the good of Germany (National) and the "Aryan" nation. You can call it all you want, but that's not going to change the facts, it was a national socialist movement, also known as nazism.

The US is full of crazy plans that never are carried out.

So are you saying that NO crazy plan of the US was ever carried out? I seem to recall several shady things appearing on CNN over the paet few years.

If you wanted to keep it in the same time frame, The Bay of Pigs jumps right out at ya

The goverment of the US has done some really boneheaded things. Iran/Contra seemed like a good idea at the time. So did aiding our buddies the Taliban. Both have come back to bite us on the hiney.

Just my thoughts on it,

I originally posted this and the documents are not mine. They are widely available on the internet if you do a search and they are declassified government documents.

Just do a search and verify it for yourself.

For those doubting the source of information regarding Northwoods, directions on how to access documentation in the National Archives can be found at www.wanttoknow.info...

I did not write these directions. They are the work and responsibility of the site linked to above. The directions are as follows:

To access the Operation Northwoods documents in the National Archives, first go to the Archival Research Catalog (ARC) on the website of NARA (U.S. National Archives and Records Administration) at:

www.archives.gov...

Click on the yellow “Search” button in the top of the left column there. Then, in the top box of the page that appears, type “Northwoods” and click on the “Go” button to the right of the box. You will see the following item:

ARC Identifier: 305036 Digital Copy Available
Title: Northwoods, U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba, 1962

Click on the “Digital Copy Available” link of this item. You will then see the first six pages of 181 pages available on Operation Northwoods. This link expires after 30 minutes (along with the URLs of individual Operation Northwoods pages), which is why we cannot provide a direct link for you.

For the most pertinent documents regarding Operation Northwoods, find the “Jump to Page” in the upper left part of this webpage. Click on the arrow to the right side of the box and select the number 22. Then click on the “go” button just to the right of the box. The most revealing 15 pages of Operations Northwoods documents begin on page 129 and continue to 143. To view any of these pages, simple click on the “Larger image” link directly beneath the page you would like to view. You will find the most shocking information on pages 138 to 141.

My father retired from the Pentagon in 1960.

He spent his last years there working with the Inspector General's Group
and had the absolute highest security clearance.

In 1971 as we were driving together to register me, his only son for Selective Service,
he told me about Operation Northwoods and the fact that there were elements within
the Pentagon who would stop at nothing to involve our country in military conflict
as long as doing so justified more military spending.

Knowing this after 23 years of honorable service, he would stop at nothing to keep his only son
from going to Vietnam.

Fortunately, my draft lottery number came in high, so I was spared from going there

He knew that our involvement in Vietnam was doomed from the very onset. He also believed that
Kennedy was taken out because pulling out of Vietnam would have undermined many billions
already slated for military spending.

The presidency is the hero of this story. Its the actual figures that came up with and recommended this plan that are the criminals.

We can and may not rule out the possibility of similar proposals that actually have been approved by the government. Nor we can compare Kennedy (the hero whom rejected the ludicrous proposal) to Bush (read: Cheney & Rove).

Rebuilding America’s defences: strategy, forces, and resources for a new century.
Written by Dick Cheney; Donald Rumsfeld; Jeff Bush, and others.

The process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbour.
_____

Pearl Harbour: - Attack on American soil – major impact – resulted in a majority of the American people whom agreed a war was inevitable and required to defend the US, and the US interests.
WTC: - Attack on American soil - major impact – resulted in a majority of the American people whom agreed a war was required/inevitable to defend the US, and the US interests

Lets not forget the war started with spain for cuba. It was rummored that we sunk our own ship, blaming it on spains coastal defenses of the island firing on our ship. The interesting part is that at that time, the coastal defenses of the particular area where it was supposed to have been fired on, only had historic cannons on display. There was no way that an iron ball could have gone through an iron ship, causing it to blow. There were more modern counterparts in place, just not operational, or ready. I'm a spaniard by nationality, and it is well known amongst us that the spanish american war was started under false pretenses. We did it once and were succesful, why not again.

Operation Northwoods did not receive Kennedy's approval, that along with Kennedy's desire to return to a currency backed by precious metals, and a speech he gave warning of secret societies are what i believe led to his murder.

This conspiracy theory sounds great and all, but do you think that the U.S. Government could actually keep all of those people on those planes silent for this long? These people had families waiting for them somewhere. I don't think that many of these people who had children, would be able to look their children/families in the face, knowing that they were involved in this thing with all the poor soles that perished that day. It would be a strange thing indeed knowing that you were partly responsible for the death of over 2,000 people. The government would have to kill all of these people. As liberal as this country is today, I just don't think that it could be kept silent. But that's just me.

From the OP:

posted on 1/7/2006 @ 07:24 PM single this post "quote"REPLY TO: CONS: Project Northwoods. America's plan to attack America. In 1962 The Joint Chiefs of Staff drew up a plan to justify waging an all out war against Cuba. Among its recommendations were a terror campaign against Cubans living in Florida, The hijacking of airplanes and surface vessels and the in flight replacement of passenger airlines with drones which would be shot down. All choreographed by the military.

Wow I recall this posted all over the internet.
2006 here apparently.
Wonder if the net postings started after 9/11/01.
They must be long gone by now.
1962 the year of Northwoods.
Wow, they really wanted to get rid of Kennedy.
Apparently this went back to the Illuminati think tanks and
blew a makeover past Bush.

ED: Remember the Maine, in the war with Spain, the conspiracy
with that still lives on. These conspiracy tales have a long life.
We blew of the Maine to take over Cuba by routing Spanish
control.

If you read the Northwood documents, those people on those planes had false identities. They got off the planes that were to be destroyed and went back to their lives. They would have had no idea what they had just been a part of. Even if they had figured it out, as part of the intelligence community they would have kept it a secret.

Well. this is the most convincing argument ive read for the use of drones on 9/11. I have to say ive long been a sceptic of the drones theory and whilst i cant say this is proof positive for the case, it does obviously raise yet more questions.
My main argument against drones is the complexity of an operation like this, the amount of people who would have to be, probably knowingly, involved and the disposal of the passengers (who we can presume arent living in a luxurious captivity as we speak!!).
