Okay, let's get the disclaimer out of the way:

I am about to talk about a life-changing piece of educational media (a movie)
and you should know that while I myself am a filmmaker,
I have absolutely no affiliation with the film I am about to talk about...
my name will be at the end so those wanting to confirm can check the
credits- I really swear I just saw this on TV five minutes ago...

It was a random movie on STARZ that I found while channel surfing-
and it may be the single biggest influence on me of the 10,000 movies I have seen
or the 1,000 books I've read... seriously profound, people- a work of genius.

It's a near-perfect documentary (i will list my one critique at the end)
with the worst title ever:

"What The Bleep Do We Know?"

Yeah, really- that is the actual title.

Anyway, what is lacks in title quality it makes up for in content.

Instead of writing a long essay about it,
I will be brief, since you all have better things to do,
so here are a few sentances:

It is primarily about physics- but not in the math sense-
in the sense of how certain understanding of the world at the
quantum level can give us a better understanding
about how we live our lives- that is, how perception can affect reality.

It is a film appropriate for people on this site
because people on this site are all a) self-aware b) interested in new knowledge
c) concerned about how to make life better for ourselves and others...
in others words, we all want to evolve.

This film is ALL about personal evolution.

It is a 2 hour piece of art and literature concerning:

science
phliosophy
theology
psychology
practical living advice

I urge EVERYONE to check out this LIFE-CHANGING work of art-
either record it (it is on STARZ late night tonight)
or buy it through the Web or search for it's next showing on cable or rent the DVD...

As a filmmaker, I would never endorse a film
for entertainment value-
I post this purely TO HELP OTHER MEMBERS as it has HELPED ME.

Please reserve judgement until you see it,
or until others who see it weigh in.

Thanks for indulging me by reading this review...

I can't believe a movie with such a horrible title could be so brilliant and full of truth.

PS It stars Martilee Matalin (the great deaf actress) for the fictional intercut
to dramatize the documentaries points about the nature of reality.

Heavy! Incredible! Food for the voracious appetite of the minds of all
you wonderfully intellectual ATS members!

T. Patrick Murray

PPS My one critique is the 2 minute part about God with 20 minutes left in the movie.
I will discuss that later with anyone who happens to watch it.

Excellent!
I agree 100%, I never knew quantum physics and mechanics can be put like that. They did a fantastic job...I actually recorded it on the old VCR so my mother who wished to watch it could watch it. using Marlee in the star role worked amazingly well! It's one of the few movies I've seen that had that big of an impact on me.

Wow!

i did not think anyone here would have ALREADY seen it.

Please people-

forget about my lone endorsement-

the fact that other member loved the movie,
please,
take a leap of faith,
trust another like-minded member,
and SEE THIS MOVIE!

it is RELEVANT to the work we all DO HERE on ATS!

I thought this documentary was one of the best things I have ever seen. It fell in line with most of what I already believe. It was nice to see.

All should see it.

The movie has been out on dvd for a while now.
I agree with you to, The documentary was very well done, definitely makes you think in a different light, I will have to find that movie in my collection and watch it again since I have forgotten most of what it was about, and the title is what actually peaked my interest while passing by it in the vid store, good marketing on the creators part!
