Zappafan, This was reported at on a talk show host when they found out about it in Charlotte. It wasnt printed in the Charlotte Disturber, but the only major newspaper in America to report it when it happened was the Philadelphia Inquirer. Hey and guess how the Italians caught them, WIRETAPPING. No uproar over that issue there it appears. Italy is showing they have the balls to go at it the right way and worry about what the public thinks later. And why is that? Because it is necessary and the right thing to do.

REPLY: Well, I don't get all the news feeds... sorry 8^) Oh... the Associated Press reported it, too, but they conveniently left out the part of the American attack plans. Isn't it strange, though, that it wasn't on the "Top Five" media outlets? I didn't even see it on Fox.... at least as of yesterday. Of course, no major media outlet here will push it, because it might show some "Americans" that Bush's ideas might actually save some peoples lives here.

Yeah... Italy got it right.

If this were true, then all the other cable news networks would be clamoring to copy Fox News's formula. Fox routinely kicks the butt of CNN, MSNBC and anyone else in the TV news market.

Sad but true... Heading the ratings by telling lies about other countries...

Does being highly educated include a sense of superiority and the power to single handidly label anyone who disagrees with the ideology as racist hicks who pollute the land?
Being an individual comes with higher education and respect for those who disagree with you.

There are some definite hackles up over the education level/political tendency correlation. The information I have read claimed that since as far back as the 1930's studies have shown that higher education levels coincide with higher levels of left leaning political views. It does not prove they are related, just that they parallel each other. So, news staffers are by and large post secondary educated, and thus likely to have leftist tendencies. I believe that I read a post something to that effect in this thread, that a study showed left bias in the media. On a Castro note, my brother spent a couple weeks in Cuba surfing, he said it was awesome.
I see a bigger problem with the media than a slightly higher than average level of socialist views, and that is the control of the media. Government and industry direct the news media, and that is sometimes very dangerous. In the western media, most major news media companies are owned by a few very powerful men. There is no doubt in my mind that these owners influence the direction and spin that our news gets. It is not supposed to be happening, but I think it is.

ATS is not a place for liberal vs. conservatives fights. Take it outside to PTS please... "

REPLY: The Mods placed this thread here, not I. If there are to be no commentaries on left or right, then ALL threads pertaining to the government will have to be removed, and no new ones started.

The thread was started because many posts contain or refer to this very issue of bias, both right and left.
