What is the world coming to when a police officer is attacked in the line of duty by a pack of angry Chihuahuas? That's exactly what happened in Fremont, CA, yesterday, as a cop escorted a teen home from a traffic stop.

Pack of Angry Chihuahuas Attack Officer

FREMONT, California (Dec. 30) - A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home following a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries including bites to his ankle on Thursday when the five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway, said Fremont detective Bill Veteran.

The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident, Veteran said.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and returned to work less than two hours later, Veteran said.

It was the third time this month a Fremont officer was bitten by a dog while on duty. Neither of the other officers were seriously injured.

And it was the second bizarre incident in as many hours for the Fremont Police Department.

Two hours earlier, a homeowner in Niles reported that an intruder broke into her home and added pornography to her computer.

I don't know if this story belongs on ATSNN either, but you should get an award for a great thread title, imo.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before this would happen. Time to build that wall, dammit!

The Atomic Clock story got moved to the OCE forum. That's ok. I can't believe this story is still hanging around. It certainly isn't right for ATSNN, imo (not that I have a corner on defining what's right for ATSNN), and I meant it purely as a New Year's Eve joke. I'm not trying to dumb down the portal, just blowing off a little steam. Please forgive my goofiness, and thanks for the props on the title.
