There are 8 KC-135 Tankers of the 940th ARG based at Beale for the moment although they will move to other bases.

The black aircraft are T-38 Talons. Used for training and keeping the pilots ( U-2/KC-135) Hours up. Of Course the Global Hawk is now based at Beale also.

ajSR-71 is right. They are T-38's that are lined up on the tarmac. I believe that elsewhere in the pic you can view one making it's way across the taxi way. As for the tails coming from the hangars, they are KC-135's from the 940th. The real mystery of Beale lies within the "decomissioned" SR-71 hangars. Recently, the USAF removed all but four. There were twelve I believe. What use does the USAF have with them? I know as of recently, after talking to some old SR-71 guys, that the 9th SRW kept on hand a partially disassembled SR-71 to be recomissioned in case of extreme circumstances. This was kept in one of that hangars, even well after it's second and final retirement in 1999. But who knows?
