Just had a good 20 minutes with Mr. On Sac and his spirits are excellent... thanks in no small part this this:

WOS deffinately has won the award for most get-well swag on the floor!
Great work everyone! This is certainly some amazing proof that the members of ATS are unlike any other discussion board on the Internet... and, that you care deeply for good our friend.

If all goes well, he may get a chance to go home tomorrow, but it won't be a big surprise if he's in another couple of days. But as it stands, for someone who was in a 14-hour surgery just last week, he looks great and is obviously in a fine mood (all things considered).

He has the podcasts on two audio CD's, and the binder with the print-out of this thread.

Next up... we anxiously await his first return post here.

Thanks again everyone.

It is great news to hear that WOS is doing so well and may soon be home to rest properly. I'm sure he's looking forward to the comfort of his own home and bed.

Three Cheers!!!

That is wonderful news, Skeptic Overlord!

I never would have thought he would be going home so soon, he's one tough WOS.

Thanks for the photos of all the schwag he received, that would brighten even the gloomiest of days!

Well... I think poor WOS was a bit too juiced-up on all the cool stuff dripping into his IV.

It looks like he'll be in until at least mid-week next week...

so there is still lots of time to send more stuff!

Let's make Willie the legend of Sloan-Kettering... so they talk about this guy and all the stuff he got for years to come.

Send cards, letters, pictures, anything... just send 'em!

Ask me, Valhall, or Springer for the address.

I just got off the phone with WOS and he is just speechless! We are all humbled by the lengths that you have gone to for him. He enjoyed his visit with Skeptic O. immensely!

So good that at least he can have a little joy while in the hospital, and hopefully in some ways has made him smile,

the room looks great!

Mid-next week sounds more the norm for the type and extent of surgery he endured.

It would seem they'll be talking about "that William One Sac guy" for quite sometime.

Question here S.O.:
During your to and fro visits, have you experienced/heard of/encountered much interest as to the source of all this attention,?
... from nurses, staff, etc.

It would seem inevitable ...?!

If so, as I put forth in a prior post, thenWilliam One Sac ... Pays It Forward

Excellent! I'm so glad to hear that all this love is being well recieved! lol, I don't think there's any question that WOS will indeed be the talk of the town at Sloan-Kettering for quite some time. Can't wait for his return!!

Great to hear the good news.......hope it keeps coming. Our prayers are still with you, William!!

The pics from his room look nice and cheery, that's sure to give his spirits a boost.....and I also bet the hospital staff are wondering who the heck is this guy??!!

Have they started asking for WOS's autograph yet?? LOL!

He's eating a SANDWICH!!!!!

This is the first step in getting him out of the hospital and back to ATS HQ! The beer fridge is looking bad and we need the kitchen chief back in action!

He sounds great today and is thoroughly enjoying all the swag and kitsch!

This is the GREATEST community on the planet.

SO GOOD to hear that he's doing well.
Sandwiches are good.
Glad he's enjoying all of the stuff-- Good wishes make you get better quicker.

I love the idea of his alias and whatnot being the talk of the floor. I'd have to say something about belonging to the CIA or being a movie star from another country.

But I'm glad to hear the good news--- There are prayers all over the place over here for him from about 300 random girls. Apparently it's working!
