I have sent 2 U2Us to the mod who removed my avatar from use.

I have used the Gripe / Idea Button once.

I, as of this writing, have not gotten a message back answering my question.

I gladly put up a new avatar, but my question is What is wrong with this avatar that would require you to remove it?

It falls into every guideline, Height - Width - File format - File size - no inappropriate content.

Here is the avatar:

Actually I think it's too tall, isn't it supposed to be 160 x 320 max?

I read that an Avatar can be up to 400 tall along as it under like 50k

let me try and find that guideline.

Avatars:

GIF and JPEG file formats only with a maximum dimension of 160 pixels wide, by 320 pixels tall. File sizes are not to exceed 75k, and animated GIF's are allowed. (physical size can extend up to 400 pixels tall for images under 50k in file size)

No profanity. No 3rd party advertising for any website(s).

Here you go
the issue is yours is 350 pixel and not 320 pixel so it exceeds the guidelines

I guess either the policy was changed and that wasn't updated or someone deleted it in error not realizing its size was allowed...

As for an answer...well, it could have been a mistake. Looks ok to me.

Please read the text you just copied and pasted Ken, it says up to 400 with file size limits which I adhered to.

So, is the feeling around here, with SUPER MODS weighing in, that the avatar is ok to use?

Do you think I should put it back up?

Should I wait for the mod who took it down to contact me with a response to my U2U?

What do you folks think?...and thanks for the input!

Ok, how about I make a command decision just to end the whole drama matter.

Go ahead and put it back up. I don't see anything wrong with it. If for some strange reason I am wrong or it gets killed again, just u2u me and I'll get you an answer...ok?

Than we can close this thread.

Cool thank for all the input everyone, I don't want to make a mod mad, just wanted an answer!

If I wanted to make a mod mad I would say things like;

"F$#%&^* S$##@"

In all caps!

Size Matters

What I'm curious about is how you got it to display in the first place.

When I have tried in the past to use an avatar taller than 320px, the Edit Profile function rejected it automatically.

In fact, I tried linking to a 160x350px image on ImageShack just now and it rejected my attempt with this error message:

Your avatar image is too large, and has been removed from your profile.

I tried both JPG and GIFs, and both are within the stated size guidelines.

Here are the images I tried:

160x350px, 7.95kb and 160x350px 40.06kb.

Why are they being rejected?

Edit: By the way, I'm fine with 160x320px being the limit.

Just sayin'.

Majic...I had the same problem once over this. I chalked it up to a "quirk" and just went back to the stated size. I forgot I had that issue.

Not every "bug" can get fixed so I just let it go.

Same here.

Let's face it: 160x320 is plenty.

Heck, just in case OMSoM has trouble again, here's a shaved-down version of the avatar:

I just tried it out and it works fine.

'Nuff said.

Edit: Well, almost. Here's a more "epilepsy friendly" version:

Easy does it.

Editorial Edit: OMSoM, I say go for it.
