OK well each year high school musicans are placed in a solo/ small ensamble festival. A judge from teh state comes out and judges us on how well me play. Now its time to decide what to play. Generally many students dont know much about classical music and play some random thigns that the band director has... Im qquite different I like playing either real classical music that is techinical or classical that is tone quality and jsut slow and beuatiful.

SO these are the two I have... I cant decide..

O mio babbino caro

That Gacimo Puccini's :O MIO BABBINO CARO

and I have

Saint Saens - The Swan

The Swan

Welp the jury is out!

I would play something jazzy except that generally gets you bad ratings. The Judges dont like it and are harsh on judgign it. I would play some Gershwin or something along thoes lines, mmmm artie shaw..... I would and I cold play jazz but Its not what im looking for in this ball park.

I know the clarinet concerto. I know it well after all it is the most famous clarinet piece ever written. Ok well close. but that is indeed out of my leauge at this time. I do not that the techinal ability to do it nor the time to play it perfectly liek I would want.

Wait, you're from New Orleans..
Can you do Pete Fountain Dixieland jazz style?
I was never a big fan of the c'net, until I heard him years ago..
I think he has/had 10 fingers on each hand..

I used to play the clarinet but then went onto the bassoon.

I love Saint Saens so that would be my choice altho I prefer Danse Macabre.

Good luck with the solo
