The home movies of the family of Saddam Hussein, including grisly scenes of torture, are proving a best-seller on the streets of Baghdad.

Some of the images show the dictator in a paternal role, smiling fondly at his brood and dandling their offspring on his knee.

But the kitsch sequences are interspersed with dark recordings of torture sessions and executions. In one, Saddam's son Uday is seen lashing the soles of the feet of a soldier with a rubber pipe as his victim screams with pain and begs for mercy. Eventually he hands the whip to a senior officer to continue the punishment. There is little doubt of its authenticity.

The CDs are an unexpected boon for the coalition, reminding Iraqis of the brutality of the old regime.

Hmmm, maybe the coalition had something to do with their availability?

im kidding of course, but do you think iraq was the only place where burtal interrogations take place?

do you realize that three of the the best intelligence agencies in the WORLD are (arguable) the Mossad, NSA, and MI6? do you think they got there without using interrogation agents with aggressive methods of operation? and do you REALLY think they play ball all the time, especially now with the BS going on in camp Git'mo? here's a pacifier for you to suck on

www.guardian.co.uk...

did you see the part how the US is EXEMPT from international crime prosecution? this means the whole operation is OUTSIDE of the generally-accepted geneva convention that prohibits torture.

do you get it?

theyre puting orange ponchos on the prisoners, subjecting them to petty mind games, and that's what they are DISCLOSING. imagine whats going on behind those closed doors.

snuff videos haven't been better for the average mentally imbalanced pervert, im sure.

It's sickening, really, how hypocritical the US can be in regards to any laws, let alone the ones we helped to make. It's like a child making rules for his clubhouse, and he doesn't have to abide by them. I bet that if a bill was pushed through congress saying that citizens weren't allowed to own handguns, every official that stands above the line of aristocracy would have a colt .45 or similar next to them at all times. It just goes to show you that we live in the land of hypocirsy. Peace.

Can you say propaganda boys and girls?

I knew you could...

You have to understand the mindset of the people.... Taking that into consideration, I can see why they are selling like hotcakes... You can't ascribe Western viewpoints to these people...they simply have a different set of rules they play by, and different things they consider "acceptable" or "entertaining..."

(weren't they buying them to look for family members that are missing (victims) - seeing if they could find them )
