The Official Launch of the AboveTopSecret.com Conspiracy Masters Initiative

<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 18-12-2005 @ 11:35 AM by SkepticOverlord

AboveTopSecret.com, LLP is pleased to announce the official launch of our Conspiracy Masters initiative.

Are you a confirmed expert in the field of conspiracy theory, political scandals, extraterrestrials, earth changes, roots of terrorism, secret societies, and other "alternative" topics? If so, we'd like to invite you to become an AboveTopSecret.com Conspiracy Master. This is a new "privileged" class of membership on ATS that provides a dedicated forum with strict moderation for the publication of your work on the Internet's most popular destination for collaboration on these topics. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to share in advertising revenue generated by your contributions.

Our Conspiracy Masters are provided these special perks:

1). Dedicated Publication Forum: An exclusive forum in our wildly popular discussion board for publishing your articles, ideas, thoughts, and research results. This collaborative environment opens up your work to the Internet's most intelligent resource of people interested in conspiracy theory and related topics. Any of our experienced members (with more than 200 posts) will be able to reply and provide additional insight or commentary on your article.

2). Private Planning Forum: An addition private forum for Conspiracy Masters and our site staff to help you get acquainted with ATS and communicate directly with our professional group of moderators on any issue.

3). Dedicated URL: One we have an initial base of 20 articles from Conspiracy Masters, a dedicated publishing destination will be launched at ConspiracyMasters.com. All of your articles will be available in an expertly search-engine-optimized environment promoted from AboveTopSecret.com.

4). Advertising Revenue Sharing: A significant portion of the advertising revenue generated by ConspiracyMasters.com will be divided among our contributors based on total page views from unique visitors.

5). A Premier Place in ATS History: As we expand to include a weekly cable-network television show, the search for relevant cutting-edge material will be an increasingly important endeavor. No other website can provide you a channel for publication that can eventually lead to a television audience and broad exposure.

Any prospective new member may select to attempt to join as a Conspiracy Master. Your application (which must include a well-written cover letter, resume, and essay on your topical focus) will be reviewed by the three owners of AboveTopSecret.com, LLP as well as our administrators and super-moderators. We will judge your application based on the quality of your written word, the experience you bring to ATS, and the topical area you intend to focus your work. Please be aware that your submission (minus any personal information you tell us to omit) will be presented to our members if your application is approved.

Our staff will also be considering inviting a select group of existing ATS members to apply for this position. If you're not invited, and desire to be considered for this new class of ATS member, all you need to do is continue submitting quality material. We will notice. However, we hope to maintain a ratio of no more than 1 existing member for every 2 new Conspiracy Masters (but this may not be the case as we launch the new initiative).

This sounds pretty cool! My question is, will non-conspiracy masters be able to view the posts in the conspiracy master forum, the way it is in collaborative fiction, where anyone can view but only writers can post? Or will it be more like RATS, where only members can view and post?

All members will be able to read the content of this forum, and any member with 200 posts or more can respond to threads.

That sounds pretty reasonable. That's the same limit to get into chat, if I'm not mistaken. That should help keep the forum fairly serious, as is the intention, from your earlier post. I doubt I'll have much of note to contribute to that forum but I'll sure enjoy reading it

"as an activist, I know every conspiracy theorist in the world"

Great idea!

A couple of questions though...

1. Is this open to staff members?
2. Does this in any way impact the idea of FSMEs? (Forum Subject Matter Experts)....
3. Can these Conspiracy Masters submit articles/posts they've previously written?
4. Is there a size limit to such submissions?
5. What about citations, to avoid copyright issues, when linking to or quoting, other sources? Will there be an accepted format? APA/MLA, etc. for the academic types.....

Thanks...

Wow, this site is growing faster and faster.

Is it anything to do with the TV show purhapse?

Podcasts, tones of new forums every couple of months, what more can you want from a site?

i really hope there's predominantly new talent

(although i could understand putting a candle flame in the window,

............at least for a period of time - to act as the attractor..............)
some personalities with a proven "Masters" track record might be;
Stanton Friedman, Sean Davis Morton, Ed Dames, Dr Louis Turi,
Hans Christian King, Stan Deyo, Dr Art Rosengaren, Joseph Jacobs,
Glynis McCants...to name a few...((who will have some face time in a
January TV Special))

? someone mentioned, 'there are NO coincidences' ....

lookin' forward to the Conspiracy Masters

Ah ATS is the BEST! Merry Christmas!

I can't wait to play!

I'm working a bit on my writing skills right now actually. So I'm so ready to play here.

THIS IS GREAT, because I actually HAVE stuff (like my ARK work) that I want to play with online and need a place for it... now wait a second... I thought I was WAY over 200 posts by now myself.

Damn, I ment to spend more time here and post MORE, but ya know.. I got other boards too eh?

(maybe I just think I've posted here a lot)

Well... so what do I do... post a lot to a bunch of threads, my opinion MORE so then usual? Like this means I gotta do a bit of work to get near to be able to participate right?

Can't I just BUY access using my points instead to express a solid interest?

Would that not be acceptable?

-VMX

PS: Or you could, just knowing how hard I personally work at these types of topics, give ol VMX a pass here.

PPS: OTOH, I've been meaning to like... just post here and only here and on and across all the boards for awhile now... and abandon my other sites (cept for my own) SO MAYBE ... this is just the kick in the ass I needed.

Another one would be to give me a job here since I have so much fracking time on my hands.

(recovering from a "minor" spinal cord injury - even the minor ones suck)

Expect mail from me S.O.

Was this forum made as a result of the upcoming TV show? To somewhat root through all the fluff?

Yes.

Rather than another dedicated domain, we're going to be launching tools where conspiracy masters can specify that their new threads be published to the site archive section... like this content here:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

When complete, you will have a "Justin Oldham" menu item in the archive where you can create an introduction article and any other content that might help introduce you to the general public. Then you can create and manage subordinate content appearing "under" your main menu item.

Also, a dedicated subdomain will take users and searchers directly to your top-tier introduction article. In your case... justinoldham.abovetopsecret.com will send users to your section of the ATS content archive.

We've decided to go in this direction because our domain name has several built-in search engine advantages and will end up sending much more traffic to your content than if we created a new domain.
