I need some help. Does anyone know of a somewhat cheap mini-dv camera that features audio input for an external mic? If not then is there some way one could attatch a mic to a camera that does not feature audio input for an external mic such as some sort of adapter?

Thanks.

Here is one
Panasonic PV-GS150 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Apparently the mic cord is only four feet long, but it does have some camcorder contols on it.
Price range was 450 to 600 bucks

to pricey?

Here is another
Panasonic PVDV402 MiniDV Multicam

Seems to jump a few price piont when that feature is added.

Slightly but thanks anyway.

I found my dad's camera. It uses Hi-8 film but I found a card that will digitize it when I transfer it to my computer. It has the mic support and will work.

For the future I'm going to get a mini-dv and that one is most likely the one I'll look into.

Thanks again Space.

Hey I do have a question. Do you have any idea how to connect an analog camcorder that uses Hi8 film to a computer. The camcorder has an video and audio RCA ports. I've been looking and I know I need an analog converter card. What sort of cabel do I need?
