I bought this off E-Bay, it's a lock. It's supposed to be a poem, which is the combo. I was wondering what it says?

It says "Made In China".

Curme, your avatar is a riot. I wish I'd have thought of that.

Peace

It's too short to be a poem...sorry...it's just a combination lock. My Chinese isn't that great...well, it's actually really bad, but what I can tell you is that this very typical of locks used in the 1800s in the San Francisco area by Chinese immigrants to ward off evil spirits.

A couple of the characters seem to be little more than "sun", "cloud", "head", etc...

Who told you it was a poem in the first place?

I'd guess that if it's a lock, then those would be numbers, or phrases that are the equal to a number, for the combination.

Ok, I figured it out. It's from the Thousand Character Classic (千字文). Thanks to everyone who helped, though!
