Alright....I was attempting an astral projection. Didn't do so well of course, but I had some interesting responses. I laid down and started meditating in a comfortable position, allowing the feeling in my body to sort of "fade away". Certain bodily functions such as the circulatory and respiratory started getting...'abnormal' I suppose would be a good term. Nothing life threatening or painful. Just...not normal. After a few minutes, I saw a bright light focused in the corner of my eye. Something that's never happened to me before.

Now, I have a tendency to have a rather wild imagination sometimes. But, it normally comes for a reason. If I had just seen something interesting and I'm thinking about it or whatnot. And often it takes my mind a moment or so to develope a vivid image of something. But...randomly out of nowhere, in the midst of my attempt, I got the image of some rather disturbing demonic sort of creature. Looked sort of rodent like in nature. Elongated face, humanoid eyes..

It was actually rather frightening. And it wasn't like a whole, random body shot of it. It was like I was face to face with it. And I wasn't dreaming, because I can still remember it perfectly.

I don't think it was an "evil" spirit. Mischievous, perhaps. Maybe attempting to scare me away from another attempt? It was rather personal though when it did it. It seemed to be looking right into my eyes, cackling madly....I only saw it fro a moment though.

Any thoughts?

I understand the sensation you speak of, however mine are askew from yours a little bit.

I've been half-ass practicing for many years now, and there is always that moment in the attempt to leave your body where you just have to face your emotions and fears head on.

Especially in the beginning, I used to get this feeling that someone was watching me, and I have on a couple of occasions been face to face with something of a face creature.

You must stand up to your fears of leaving your body, or you remain identified with it. You are close, but you still have to be courageous.

There is no danger in these entities, if you want to call them that, I see them as mental handicapping structures that must be overcome in order to proceed.

Through my many years of practice, I've left my body about 8 to 10 times, but I feel I am about to have a breakthrough.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you need a great dream recall ability to remember any out of body experience.

Without this dream recall, you won't remember your exit and the return will be so shocking that it in itself can act as an erasing mechanism.

Good luck to you on your journeys.

Any advice on dream recall training?

And I spoke to my friend about it. According to his religion it's a misunderstood spirit that just wants to play....I'm apparently being haunted -_-

Dream recall - hmmm...

It's really hard to work on, as you can't do much beforehand to try to remember a dream that happens afterwards. I think the best thing to do is to try to remember and reflect on your dreams the moment after you wake up. Go back through it as much as possible. Write it down if that helps you (it doesn't for me, but it does for others).

Over time you should find that you'll remember more - especially if you have good dreams - as it becomes a nice way to start the day.

Another excersize that I just thought of, do something before going to sleep. Put a dollar (or a pound or € or whatever) somewhere out of sight before you go to sleep. Then, in the morning, try to remember where you put it. Try not to make it a place of habit that you put it - but somewhere new every time. You'll start developing your memory for when you come back into consciousness.

Hope this helps!

Yes the images are fears. I have had them early in the piece. Fears must be confronted before moving forwards. Allow the images, do not shrink from them, accept them for what they are images of fear adn then you can move on.

It's funny that you should call them images of fear when I'm not afraid of anything related to it. And it wasn't I that shrunk from it. I can't shrink from something if it leaves first.

okay it sounds like you had a run in with a paranormal entity now the fact that there was involvement with you personally is a bad sign.this face off you described could mean alot of things see when dealing with meditation seance todash or whatever alot of the focus is on intent what we feel and think go into our intent.where you are is important too alot of us use different methods when performing such rituals salt with your intent to protect is good also a prtective chant can help.first off never try to do such things in an area that has ghosts or even worst things. Now to tell you the truth demons and wraiths and lost souls are attracted to fetters they vary for each one such as violence certain objects that pertain to them in some kind of it could have been passing though, living there or you could have even called it.i can call very nasty things aswell as other things too.not that i have spectres bound to me but if i open my drkness which is attached to sin or more simply put negative energies and my friends i have been quite far down the spiral.certain spectres and i use this term loosely for there are specific names for each kind of "ghost" come too more when they feel certain feelings around them.
now if it was passing through you will know this now that this thing has connected with you it will return if that is its seems to be a middle level at the least and i doubt that it lives directly in the area unless you have experienced phenomenon before now if you feel any fear at all
judgeing by the appearance this one is not good and to even try to understand them on a level of whther or not they are mischieveous or helpful is very hard to do.if it was a ghost then certain how do i say steps or discriptions are in place these are not only varied within the ghost field but absolutely change for every caste of the supernatural for even though they look and act different similarities are found within the reasons behind their habits and powers aswell as their appearance and behaviors.(sorry if that doesnt make much sense im tired)based on such a small encounter
i can only analize what you have told me but seriously cleanse your room or whatever and look into some crystal protection if there is more activity please post...

Nothing to be concerned over. It's just astral "junk" of no import whatsoever. The more you do this type of thing the more often things like this will show up out of the blue. (even if your not doing anything at the time to cause it)

Now if you would parden me, this hits on a pet peeve of mine so I'm going to get on my soapbox. ahem.. ahem..

I can't stress how much occult training of somesort is needed before you start doing things like this!

IMHO a rank beginner would know how to stop this without a problem, you just need to banish by whatever way suits you, Ceremonial Magick's LRBP, smudge sticks, even saying the Our Father or another prayer if your a Christian will work.

Another problem someone without training runs into is giving "something" they experience to much importance when in reality it's just garbage, they risk not being able to see the see the forest through the trees so to speak. I know many of you have seen this type of person before.. they are the err... nutjobs that you see in the new age/ occult world. They are the types that would take this astral junk and assume it's some sort of "past master."

Hey I managed to keep my rant short! Cool!

Sorry i got to this late but.Its funny you ask about dream recall because i was working on a theory of it today.See many of us are woken up by alarm clocks and not of our own accord, rarely do i use an alarm but i had to today, and i noticed that because of the instant transition i couldnt seem to remember my dream..Usually i have a hard time waking up in this world.
This is strange activity for me..Now i dont always dream but i did last night.Pieces were there but i think too much happened at once and my mind was wiped...
I dont know just a thought..

Purify yourself and your surroundings and your intent.
Claim yourself to the naturally good and well being of all creatures (intent is key).

Just dont allow the demon in the presance of your hospitable and positive intent.

I dont know just a thought..

And one I've had as well.

It is no coincidence that I can recall many more dreams on Saturday and Sunday compared to the rest of the week. The sudden awakening caused by an alarm clock agitates the astral body and the memories are lost. Even with the disadvantage of an alarm clock however, it is still possible to do a dream recall. The most important factor here is movement. The less you move your physical body, the closer your connection will be with your astral body and its memories.

The following is a technique given by Samael Aun Weor in the book, Dream Yoga, for dream recall:

"It is urgent to combine the retrospective excerices with the following mantras: RAOM GAOM. Each word is divided into two syllables. One must accentuate the vowel O. These mantras are for the student what dynamite is for the miner. Thus, as the miner opens his way through the bowels of the earth with the aid of dynamite, similarily, the student also opens his way into the memories of his subconsciosuness with the aid of these mantras."

The mantra is to be chanted internally, when no more dreams can be remembered. Focus on the last image that was in your mind. Work your way back from that image to try to remember the many dreams you've had at night.

Inverencial Peace,

That brings a good point to me because we rush to get the alarm we go right from astral to full fleged up and ready to go.Well generally speaking.
And to AkashicWanderer.I thank you for the mantra. There is much power within it.I have an eternity of knowledge yet to uncover aswell as spiritual tools to find to help me fight all the battles along the way.Even after being here for a few days i am now so much stronger and ready to go forward.

This dosen't apply to you Akashic Wanderer because I know you are of the light.

However, don't accept mantras from strangers and don't believe the meanings they tell you.

Before you travel into other realms; arm yourself with the sword of purity and the shield of faith.

God is one of my strongest connections or what i understand. But know this
I may never again feel his favor.Well it is complicated.......
We have to do much i believe to gain our exsistence through deed
and self learning we may all bask in that which is the truth.
and thank you for the heads up.I am weary of any new information that i have not yet checked up on.I am well versed in the toungues of our kind....
or at least i would like to think so but that might be my ego talking...

As far as i know, there are astral beings who feed upon negative emotions, but they should be harmless, except for the fact they mess a little with your emotional state, eventually enhancing those bad feelings so that they can better feed.
Maybe this could have been one of them...
