US hates UN.

US thinks Kofi Anan keeps getting in our way.

Our Vice President Mr Cheney would not mind it if the CIA would throw a guy to the lions if that would get us some life saving information.

UN has now said that all human rights may be put aside except 2.

1. Right to not be murdered in a prison.

2. Right to not be tortured by the police.

"Lots of human rights... can be set aside temporarily... but not the right to life and not the protection against torture."
Louise Arbour, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

Bush has sent a strong rebuke to the UN. Why ?

The Emperor wants to throw prisoners to the lions. Thumbs down.

I can't find any reference to the UN saying the US are "evil" in any of those links.

Whether or not thats true is another question entirely. Once again it seems like "do as i say, don't do as I do" from this administration and the good name of the US goes further down the U-bend.

Pot, meet Kettle.

I say disband the UN. Get the US out of the UN and vice-versa.

Actually Rockefeller gave them that land for the U.N. Building.

We fit perfectly in the U.N., people do not see the bigger picture.

That "bigger picture" wouldn't be the UN as the fullfillment of the NWO and the US being an instrument by which the NWO UN will further its ends and continue to fill its coffers, all the while, continuing to sit back, eating popcorn, and watching genocide further unfold in Darfur?

My opinion mirrors what a lot of other people seem to think (non-ATS members that is, just people I come across and common everyday discussions).

To me, the UN is politics on steroids. The corruption is just on a larger, world stage that transcends the boundaries of nations. The UN makes the Olympic committee look like the Girl Scouts.

While I think it is often at odds with the desires/intentions of the US, (leaving me to often wonder why we are in it and should perhaps leave), I still think our input and relations in it are useful for some matters. If nothing else other than to keep others out of it that would tilt the scale in the favor of those who we consider rivals/enemies.

Just personal thoughts.

Ok...lets just get one thing straight;

Who will fill the power gap and diplomatic gap if it is dispanded?
The US?
The most hated country in the world at the moment, not exsactly the best position to start diplomatic relations with.

Who is going to continue anti mine jobs?

The US?
No...the US alone uses a large pecentage of mines and usese them today in urban areas.

Who is going to orginise peacekeeping?
The UK? or the US?

Both countries are hated and both are overstretched to help anyother country or stop 2 countries from fighting.

Or as many say ; do you lot believe that isnt your problem?

You have voted Breezin for the Way Above Top Secret award. You have two more votes this month.

Thank you sir you have written exactly my thoughts, once again, thank you.

Also, DW you’re a smart guy, the UN is corruption and inefficiency at it’s best, surly you can see that cant you? If not disbanding, then major reforms are in order.

The EU or the Shanghai Cooperation Organization perhaps?

Major reforms I agree with, disbanding I dont.
Thanks your not to dum yourself
, the UN is just as corrupt and inefficient as ANY political system to date.

Seek, the EU cant even agree on bloody fishing rights half the time, you seriosly think that they will resolve a nuclear missile crisis?
