The most important question here is, what does God say the Bible is?
Also, nowhere is it written that this is a collection of good advice, rather, the 10 Commandments are...well...commandments. Those who didn't know,
God wrote that part Himself. When Jesus was baptised, God said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." Jesus spells out very
clearly the criteria to receive eternal life. The Great Comission Jesus gives is not a request. File it under the "kids" section if you like, but
it by no means is an easy book to comprehend entirely all it has to tell us on a daily basis. Following is no easy feat either, nevertheless reward
is assured, often in this life, but can be guarenteed in the afterlife per the documentation. Don't have to believe me though, ask God if He said
and did these things.

....and that makes Jesus his son a bit complicated, does it not?
