You want to know why people bach the u.s.?
Because you preach your country like it is the ONLY country in the world, and that it is the best country and no other country even comes close to how
great the united american states are!
Then we see your foreign policies, your homless, your homocide rates, your low level standards of living. It doesnt match up to this great bold eagle
country than most americans preach, just lighting up with the patriotism!
You dont see aussies n here saying "Where would the world be without australia?" Saying how you wouldnt have a lawn mower, a bbq, and black boxes
on planes, and those tiny camera you see used in sport racing events. Those are some aussie inventions off my head. WOW without us the world would be
a different place......now everyone cheer how great australia is!! LMAO

Where would the world be without the US? hmm.............I'm thinking that Australian farmers could tell you in a few seconds exactly where they'd
be. Prolly still on their farms, or without a glut of oranges that they can't give away. Not everyone thinks the US is king, & with a looney like
GW in charge, they look even more sillier than ever.

This is why this board erks me sometimes, no one can see anything positive from the US, it doesnt matter what we did or our achievements the fact is
the world doesnt like us, Why? who cares why. This crap cannot be blamed on the 'racism in new orleans' HA! what a joke that is. Oh! BTW did you
hear we intentionally sent in a super secret squad of commandos and blew the levies?! Oh yes, we want millions of blacks homeless so we can pay more
in taxes to get these people back in homes etc.
Oh! here is another one, the patriot act, now when was the last time and innocent and I mean INNOCENT citizen was illegally searched and thrown into
prison? (I dont mean they were suspected of giving money etc to terrorists and were thrown in jail because like it or not that is TREASON!)
So why do the western europeans hate the US, well for one it isnt liberal enough for them, there are a large majority who believes its immoral to have
50 million sex partners, or be homosexual, or have aboritions etc.
Oh yes and we are bible thumping hypocrites!
Oh and the invasion of the sovereign nation of Iraq on trumped up charges, true bush is an idiot and didnt bother to pull his head out of his rear end
and bother to really investigate the matter nor do i believe it was ever his intention to do so. Now the world bases allot of its dislikes of us onto
this. Well, it goes further back than even that.
The Real reason your hated if your an american boils down to you have some pride in your country, and after all the US has done you should be.
Aside from the fact that many innovations are american, Aircraft-wright brothers, Rocketry- Robert Godard, World's first nuclear weapon was
American(although some may argue that may not be a good distinction, and had european help with the science).
It was the US who defeated, with the help of the british and red army, nazi germany(britain probably would of been defeated eventually otherwise) It
was an american who first walked on the moon.(a fine distinction, given that was over 30 years ago and still no one else has done that.) The list can
go on and on.....
Be proud to be american!
(BTW any 'war crimes' that were commited by the US pale in comparison to some of the sickening stuff that has gone on in europe and in other parts
of the world and many of these so called 'war crimes' america supposedly commited are fabrications)

Where would the world be without the US?
Certainly not talking over a world-wide Internet as we all do now, because the technology and money to establish it came from the USA.
So, without the USA you would likely not have this medium to bash the US with, certainly not in its current relatively unrestricted form. Does anyone
want to make the claim that any other country would have not only created it, but then shared it with the rest of the world? Do you think the USSR or
China would have? Would Nazi Germany? How about Imperial Japan?
Ya know, you can hate and dispise us all you want. It doesn't change the fact that many (but not all) of your countries are has-been little Empires
that failed in the preceeding centuries, one way or another. You abused and persecuted goodly portions of your various populations, who eventually had
(and are still having) the last laugh by coming here and making something better. You chased your most dynamic people away. They came here and
succeeded dispite you. Your own short-sightedness comes back to bite you and stick in your craw with every American movie you watch, with every pair
of Levi's bluejeans you put on, with every Coca-Cola or Pepsi you drink. No wonder you hate us. You could have been us if you had been able to stop
fighting each other and letting your various religions keep you at each other's throats.
So hate us if you want. Dispise us if you will. It changes nothing.

People, people calm down. The Earth's nations would be in major ruins. If there were no US. By now there would only be certain places that would
sustain life. Since the US never came to be, they never invented the Atom Bomb, and used it against Japan to show them who was boss. It also put into
perspective of other nations that they would not want a nuclear war.
They would've never started the UN to regulate the nuclear use.
Without the US Germany or Russia would've invented the Atom Bomb, they would've unleashed it on the nations that opposed them, without thinking of
the reprocusions it would bring. There would be freedom, but only to those that wander the wastelands of the once mighty cities. There would be no
mixing of colors. If you were white you stay white, asian you stay asian and black you stay black. The people of the former powers would have nothing
left. They would become obsloete. They would create and breed people to survive. Without the US. The world would be not as big, as in the means of
travel. The nations would end up destrying themselves over the thought of being supreme.
Now tell me would you want to live in a world like that. Where you were confined to places without radiation fallout. The nations would probably end
up living in space because they destroyed their own cities. It was the US that started the UN.
So there you have it, a world without the US.
Now people, without the US non of us would be here like this. It would probabl be alot worse.

...........maybe. Who's to say that one of the other great nations wouldn't have risen to the occasion? We can never know. But what really craps
the rest of us off is how you guys are always bragging about how damn great you are. Nobody likes a bragger, & nobody likes arrogant people. If you
guys lightened up on the flag waving, bragging & arrogance, we'd prolly have more time for you. Trust me

Let me point out the real differences between the USA and other countries that might have, but didn't rise to the occasion.
The USA was created in such a way as to remove the dark influence of state religion, although there are misguided people who wish that to change.
The USA was incredably fortunate to have nearly unlimited natural resources at its disposal at a time when that really, really mattered.
The USA was and is unique in that almost every culture in the world has contributed to ours in various ways.
The USA was a way out for the disaffected people of any country who for whatever reason were unhappy in their country of origin. As a result, the
people who came here were for the most part happy about it and looking for something better than they left, even if they had to create it themselves.
The USA is populated by the decendants of people from many, many countries and cultures who had the courage and fortatude to take a chance, to have
faith in themselves, to strive and work toward something greater than what had come before. Even those who were brought here wrongly against their
will from Africa left a better legacy for their decendants than if they had stayed in their countries of origin.
Ultimately the poem at the base of our most famous immigrant, the Statue of Liberty, says it well.
The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
with conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
a mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame,
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Our culture and population is the most diverse in the world. This is our true strength. This is why we succeed. This is what makes us great. Most
other countries seem to still be stuck in the status quo of race, class, and religion. You perpetuate this by staying in your own little nation
states. You refuse to unite (until recently with the EU) so you waste your time fighting with with your neighbors over stupid things like religion,
skin tone, and little pieces of land. You waste your time, energy, and lives on hating each other, then dispise us because we found and improved on
ways to get beyond that, in theory, if not always in practice.
Like I said before, hate us if you must, dispise us if you will, but at least be honest as to why.

Well, as for Australia, it's not a has-been failed empire, is it? In my view, it is similar to the USA in that you made it what it is yourselves out
of virtually nothing. This is admirable. I recognize and applaud that achievement and your nation.
As for choosing to listen, I did listen. Doesn't mean I have to agree with what I've heard. We didn't and don't ask anyone's permisison to be
what we are.

United States represent what it represents cause of the people of the united states, a nation made from many nations, you can say america belongs to
the world.
Who rules in the united states dont trully represent united states, the people of united states represent and make that nation.
Cureltly what was the mother of all freedom the guide to freedom is fadeing away.
United States is looking more and more like heading to a place where freedoms are fewer and maybe soon loss of free speach, the right to speak.
I hope people from there are not too conforable like they use to be and be more parctical get involved more in politycs, because it is a country worth
saveing and at the curent time only a few trully care for freedom and human rights , most just take the confort of security over freedom a loss that
later will have a greate cost.
[edit on 7-12-2005 by pepsi78]
I have been to Europe on many occasions and for that matter most of the globe as a military member. I have tried to represent my country as an
emmissary (sp?) of peace and tried not to be the "ugly american". Some of my bretheren do not do so, mostly because they are young and when they get
to go to a country where women can be purchased and drinking is a non-issue they get a little wild. When you come from a culture that says women are
equal (read have more rights that the average WASP) and drinking is looked on like some kind of right of passage at age 21, you will have some who do
not control themselves. It is a fact of pent up youth. This is the face most europeans see in our servicemen and women. While I agree that we
americans are the greatest nation to grace the planet (what other country can do what we have in so short a time period without the grace of God
blessing us?) we by and large want to throw money at problems and try diplomacy. When that doesn't work lickety split we step on some throats. It is
a matter of our nation being young and not wanting to wait two generations to get things done. We have a saying in America "Poop or get off the
pot", and for the less that able to figure that out, it means fix it or move and let us fix it if you are unable/unwilling. The lone exemption is our
military and peace corp types (redcross and other like organizations included). They come to the rescue of every kid that fell down a well and every
hungry mouth with food. Most american are just too busy doing life to get involved. We are an instant oatmeal/microwave society. If we can't have it
now we don't want it. We also have short term memories only (unlike some countries who fight for so long they forget why they are fighting and won't
listen to reason anyway) and forgiving hearts unless we can fix what broke.
