Hello Ironjello & others!
Scientifically speaking, there is no way that a far-off "planet" can fall on earth like the proverbial ton-of-bricks, splitting it in two! However,
most of the ancient calendars point to the year 2012 as the "end of the world" meaning end of the present world, and the beginning of a new world -
the GOLDEN AGE.
There seems to be a lot of information coming out lately about Earth Changes, usually defined as catastrophic geological events such as earthquakes,
volcanoes, polar shifts, flooding, and global warming. What do we do with all this? Some of it may be disinformation, like deliberate attempts to
terrorize people. Some of it, written or channeled with the best of intentions are still only speculations.
However, much of it is carefully researched information. It is easy to pass off certain predictions as "doom", when we should be paying close
attention to our ecosystem which is so terribly out of balance. Tragically, by closing ourselves to some of these possibilities of major earth
changes, we are also closing ourselves off to the much larger possibilities of planetary renewal and hope.
It's ironic that when we go on an ever increasing rampage of war and mindledss environmental destruction creating gloom and doom for millions on this
planet, we accept it as "reality", but when nature decides to do something about it, we perceive it as "doom".
In addition to the two obvious movements of the Earth, viz., the daily rotation on it's axis and the orbit around the Sun, there is also another in
which the rotational axis itself moves in a large circle around the Pole Star completing a circle in about 26,000 years, known as the Precession of
the equinoxes - explained:
One such circle is being completed in 2012. This is basis on which the "Age of Aquarius" is celebrated in the musical HAIR: a period when according
to astrological mysticism, there would be unusual harmony and understanding in the world.
We could certainly use a dose of harmony and understanding in this old world, what?
Remember Richard Bach? "What the caterpillar calls the end-of-the-world, the master calls a butterfly". Likewise, the end of 2012 is not the end of
the world like - "Poof-and-it's-gone-along with-all-of-us" - but the beginning of a new world - THE GOLDEN AGE.
