A group of Libyan nationalist stole the plutonium and asked me to make a bomb for them. But in return I gave them a shody bomb casing full of used pinball machine parts. I am now using the plutonium for my time machine in order to stop the theft of the plutonium from happening.

In all seriousness, plutonium has a half life of about 24k years. So I guess between now and sometime in 26005 anything could happen.
