I just downloaded the new Firefox 1.5.

Now I have to re-install some of my extentions. When I click to install an extention I get a msg telling me that "software installation is disabled. Click edit options... to enable and try again."

So I go into the options menu as directed and I can't find where I'm supposed to enable software installations.
.

I hope I just can't find it and it's not an issue with the new Firefox.

Any help will be appreciated.

Did you create a new profile? If not, its best to create a new profile when using a new release.

Try about:config, and search for xpinstall.enabled. Set it to true. This setting doesnt exist in 1.5 anymore, and if you upgraded and it was disabled in your previous version, then it would be here too.

Can you dumb it down for me a bit?

Where do I try about:config?

In the address bar, just type about:config and hit enter. Then in the Filter bar enter xpinstall.enabled. Double click the row to invert the value if it isnt already True. If it IS true and it doesnt work, then I dunno how to fix it.
