Actually for the non Brits out there this was a long standing hoax. Paul even expressed his amazement about how this came about. Having known George for a few years he always said how silly this was given the demand that they got back together after Johns death - and when the internet was perpretrating this myth.

I'm a huge Beatles fan. I remember when I was younger I was really intrigued by this theory. I never thought it was true, but I always thought it was cool to think about stuff like that. All those what if's and all. But man, Paul was only starting his 20s when all this was going on, you still change a lot during that time. Also, they sure seemed to have left out pictures from before 63 of him with a thinner face to compare with the later photos. I've found some that would line up well, should I send them? Anywho, enough of that! I don't want to bore everyone

Paul was definitely replaced. Here is a picture comparison of Paul in 1964 vs. "Paul" in the Penny Lane video (1967).



I put the pictures in negative & upside down to try to break the conditioning to see them as the same. As you can tell from the photos, there are quite a few differences, such as the eyebrows, mouths & noses.
