Chavez's actions will add to the current friction between the United States of America and Venezuela as well as Iran. Though Chavez claims to be pursuing a nuclear energy program only, it seems that the pursuit of nuclear weapons always follows. It is obvious that any country who wishes to stem off foreign invasion or interference should attempt to secretly acquire nuclear weapons. It remains to be seen if this is Chavez's intention.
