Ive havent seen much good independant side by side comparison of the 6.8spc and 6.5 grendel.

This is one of the only comparisons Ive seen which has the 6.8 with better CQB performance and the 6.5 with better performance at ranges of over 500 yards.

I dont see the real hige need at ranges of 500 plus yards most soldiers with standard combat rifles arent shooting close to that range.

I dont think they have even developed 6.5 AP tungsten carbide round yet

There really is nothing wrong with 5.56mm, especially with the newer bullet designs, so.......

Hk416 with a 16 inch barrel, Trijicon ACOG, and loaded exclusively with the Mk262 Mod 1 bullet, shoot off the 55 grainers on the range over the next couple of years.

FN SCAR - L would be just fine also.

WORST CHOICE:

An SA80A2 with the Chau Chat as the squad level LMG and the baby Nambu as the sidearm
