It is time for Hamas to take over the old, outdated and corrupt PLO. Hamas speaks for and is the true military terrorist organization of the Palestinians.
It is time to turn over the reigns of power to the true voice of the Palestinians and to do away with Mahmoud Abbas and his corrupt organization.

So you think it'll be good for the Palestinians to have their future in the hands of a "military terrorist organization?"

They'll never get any freedom, land or dignity following that route IMHO.

Wow :shk:

are you chinese or even half? IMO let the palestanians choose the way of life they want to live, don't go and barging and invade country's just because you think it needs to be liberated, Israel didn't even do anything in palestine other than bomb schools, hospitals and even stores/companys.

only those used by terrorists and terror organizations as a means of cover.

The Israeli's didn't go blowing up schools and hospitals. It's the terror organizations that actively seek out public targets to kill as many innocents as possible, then run for cover in public places, thereby killing more innocents, this time their own people.

I've always been suprised by the palestinians inactivity with regards to distancing themselves from the terrorists. They must know that when Hamas uses a hospital as cover the hospital is now a target of attack.

If hamas wants to take control of the PLO, then by all means they should do so. Doesn't seem that they are capable of it to be honest. And if they do, what of it? Then what little gains the palestinians have had will simply be removed.

We already know that the palestinians, heck the entire 'pan-arab league' can't hack it militarily, not against israel. They've had two wars with them and lost both. The Palestinians are occupied now because of that. If Hamas takes over from the PLO, then things will simply revert to what they once were, no open border in gaze, a heavy yehudi military presence in the strip, and now the addition of a Wall around the west bank, daily raids, refugee camps, etc, but this time without any pressure from the US (you know, the only people in the world that they actually have to listen to) to 'work for peace'.

With all due respect I think you should recount the number of wars fought against Israel by Arab contries.

Do you really believe that the PLO is not a terrorist organization?

I think the PLO used to be closely tied with terrorists, but they've been moving away from that steadily. I'm sure there's still some element remaining, but it's nothing like Hamas.

I thought that there were only two wars between israel and an independant palestine with pan-arab backing? The 6 day war and the yom kip war? Anyway, having more battles where the israelis wipe up the arabs doesn't change the case. The PLO is a terror org that moderated in order to get what it wanted (whether we say thats more independance for the palestinians or more wealth and power for the PLO leaders). Hamas is a purely militant group, that will not moderate, at least not for a few years.

As far as I know, the U.S. Congress is working on a resolution (House Resolution 575) that will ban Hamas from taking part in the election process and that threatens that the relations between the Palestinian Authority and the US would be damaged if the PA does not disarm Hamas. Abbas should declare his intention to dismantle the terrorist organizations operating in the territories prior to the elections - otherwise he will lose U.S. support.

On Friday, Fatah ( Abbas's ruling party) primaries were held in Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem, Jenin and Tubas (all in the West Bank); today, Fatah party cancelled its primaries in the GazaStrip after militants stormed some polling places and shut them down. In coming days primaries are expected to be in several more districts and in the West Bank and in the GazaStrip..

In the Ramallah district with 40,000 Fatah members, on Friday some 30,000 votes went to Barghouti, who is currently serving five life sentences for murder and is convicted of involvement in terror killings in Israel.

The Jenin winner, Jamal Abu Rob, who gave himself the nickname Hitler," is wanted for killing several suspected informers with Israel. (more)

The Nablus candidate, Jamal Jumaa, is a leader of Al Aqsa (which voiced full support for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statements in which he said that Israel "must be wiped off the map.") in the West Bank's largest city.

So it would seem that the PLO, Hamas, Palestinian Authority, Fatah or whatever name they go by, they are all terrorists.

Just an update of what is happening in the PA right now:

Fatah's first-ever primaries have been called off by Abbas over widespread fraud.

No new date was given.

Those candidates (in the WestBank) who won their elections protested the move. They accused Fatah's senior guard of trying to prevent the entry of younger candidates. (more)
