check out the full holdings and history of EMI in this link

www.thalesgroup.co.uk...

one example of Emi's current affiliations

"Philips decide to pull out of the Defence industry. As a result, Thorn EMI Electronics acquires the Radar and EW Divisions of MEL while the Communications Division is acquired by Thomson-CSF"

And the current focus of their parent company

"August 1, 2003
Training Solutions
The provision of long-term training solutions that offer the highest quality results within an affordable package, is a requirement that a growing number of military customers are turning to, as they struggle to match complex needs against constrained budgets. "

Most entertainment conglomerates these days have their fingers in weird things. Vivendi is actually a French water company. ABC was owned by General Electric before they sold it to Disney. the chain of command in most entertainment companies is fairly strange. it makes for interesting reading. in the future, you could find an attack jet over your house for downloading movies. (well, maybe not, but you never know
)

Arnt these the outfits with tv ads stating that their kids cant have braces, becouse people download poorly converted copies of mp3's, instead of buying their 2nd gen digital repro's

Wow, so the the riaa is gonna have some firepower next time they go after a 12 year old girl for downloading on her mom's computer. You would think that with all the money and power they could find something a bit more constructive to do
