I'm intrested in your research. I don't know a lot about Australian bases. Here's what I Know:
The NSA has a secret facility called Pine Gap. The facility is quite large and has rows of satilite dishes. I believe the facility is a listening post that help provide primary coverage of the southern hemisphere. Hope that helps.
