On Sunday, November the 20th the Iranian Government held a live, [broadcasted on the radio], vote to see if the Iranian Government should block weapons inspectors the ability to monitor their 'Nuclear Facilities' if they are referred to the Security Council.

Iran - Raising the stakes before a key vote by the U.N. nuclear agency, lawmakers approved a bill Sunday requiring the government to block inspections of atomic facilities if the agency refers Iran to the Security Council for possible sanctions.

The bill was favored by 183 of the 197 lawmakers present. The session was broadcast live on state-run radio four days before the International Atomic Energy Agency board considers referring Tehran to the Security Council for violating a nuclear arms control treaty. The council could impose sanctions.

To me this is a smart peace of political play by the Iranian Government - they are deliberately forcing the International Atomic Energy Agency to back down on placing sanctions on their Government or run the risk of having the Iranian Government work on producing Nuclear armaments. Will the IAEA back down and not refer them to the security council or will this be a prelude to war?

If they are referred, it is likely the Iranian Government will not back down on this law - forcing weapons inspectors to leave. Will we see evidence three years from now where the Iranian Government can attack us with Nuclear Weapon’s in 40minutes?

Will this be the next Iraq?

Lets hope not. Iran is far more capable of defending itself than Iraq was.

Not only can they defend themselves MUCH better (like 10x at least), they have strong ties with Russia and China.

This is a very bold move by Iran indeed, and it's hardline President will definately not back down from this.

As for the IAEA, I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards them refering Iran to the UN Security Council.

And once they do, and Iran kicks out the weapons inspectors....well this will just top off the already long list of things Iran did to make sure war occurs.

If worst comes to worst, this will really test the US in military terms like it hasn't been tested in years.

Even so, lets just watch the rabid Hawks on this site claim how the US will "kick butt" and walk over Iran.

Iran has the money and a very competent Military to make sure that, even though a US/Coalition (read UK) victory is a 75% certainty, we end up with casualties we haven't seen for decades and perhaps a war of the type we haven't seen since Korea.

It will be messy, that is without a doubt.
