WAR: Al-Zarqawi's Jordan Family Renounces Him

After claiming responsability of the suicide bombings of 3 Amman hotels that killed 59 people on November 9th , and threatening to kill Jordan's King Abdullah. The Family of infamous terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has renouced him and he will no longer recieve protection from his tribe.



Many non-muslims allways wonder why Muslims never discourage, or show outrage for these acts of violance. Here is a clear case of a person's own family taking action to denouce his actions. With this statement Al-Zarqawi days are number since he will no longer have the protection of his family or tribe, many who hold high positions in the Jordanian military and Governemnt.

Wow, this seems serious!

The family statement follows a rally Friday by dozens of angry al-Khalayleh tribe members, who also denounced al-Zarqawi.

The terrorist leader took his name from the city of Zarqa, 17 miles northeast of Amman.

"If my son was a terrorist, I wouldn't hesitate to kill him," family member Mousa al-Khalayleh said during Friday's rally, claiming he spoke on behalf of the tribe.

I wonder what this does to their safety. Perhaps this can set an example for others who disagree with the terrorism to speak out too. Could this be a turning point?

He is already dead, what is the point? Must be a slow news day.

He's not officially dead yet, we're waiting for the DNA results.

I wonder if now 57 of his closest family members have paid for an advertisement denouncing him and his al-Qaeda in Iraq terror network, people here will now believe he actually exists.

He may indeed be dead, but that doesn't take away from the significance of this development. For his own family to renounce him shows just how popular Jordan's King is for one thing and for another, renunciation by an Arab family is a big deal.

I haven't seen anything on the news about Al-Zarqawi supposedly
being dead. What happened? Someone link me please.

I applaud the family for making this statement.
I applaud them for their bravery.
I applaud them for standing by their King - a man
who is well educated, who took in the Palestinians,
who gave refuge to those in need.

I applaud them for standing with this man - instead
of standing with their terrorist relative.

I hope that ALL Muslims around the world, and especially
in the United States, take a good look at these enlightened
people and make note of it. THIS is what the world wants

I wish you could take a class in critical thinking at your local university aswell.

It's not the purpose of non-violent Muslims who are not involved in these killings to discount these events, nor has it been considered by you that when they do, the world seems quite to thier views.

Interesting development. I hope more actions like this are forthcomming. While we can attempt to stop the terrorists by hunting them down, the removal of their support network may be an even more damaging blow.

I'm curious how long he's been operating in Iraq, or wherever else. I guess what I really want to know is, was the family okay with what he was doing before? I can't help being a curmudgeon about this.

I really want to know, why did they wait until now to disown him? Why not before, when he was blowing up Iraq?

I bet they are just trying to keep out of trouble with the king.

This guy has been operating in Iraq now for how long? Killing how many Muslims? And his family is just now denouncing him?? Better late than never I guess

Wrong. That's the same as saying that it's not the 'purpose' of
Catholics to complain to the higher ups in the church about the
pedophile scandal. Groups need to be self policing. Otherwise,
the rest of the world will jump in and police it for them. If Catholics
around the world stayed quiet and just left it to the pedophile victims
to work things out .. there would still be pedophiles in the priesthood
and bishops would still be hiding them and the victims would be left
all alone in a sad struggle. Same thing goes for Muslims
around the world. They need to police their own, otherwise the rest
of us will be left policing up after them, and they won't like it.

Fact is that muslims seldom publically denounce violence done
by other muslims. When they do, we applaud them. Just as
I did here - which YOU became snotty about.

The U.S. military is conducting tests to determine whether terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was among those killed in a weekend raid in northern Iraq, but a White House official called that prospect "highly unlikely."

So, if he is not dead then what his family has done to him could have pretty lasting results for his little "cause".

I hope this helps bring an end to him, and his terror.

I agree Flyersfan. It IS their job to police one another. Just like in any organization, it is the job of certain people, namely your boss for one, and his boss, and his boss and so on to be directly involved with the development of each member of the organization. Within religion it is pretty much the same. And here is a thought, why wouldn't other people stand out against acts like this? Obviously, Americans' views don't matter much. So who should help out a little? Maybe his breatheren could?

I have seen a few come out and show outrage towards his acts. BUT NOT ENOUGH!!! And don't be an a**hole about things Luxifero. Voice your opinions without trying to belittle others.
