The bird flu has made its way to the shores of North America after a duck in British Columbia, Canada was found to be infected with the Avian Flu virus. Canadian officials quarantined the farm as a precaution but say the rest of the flock were healthy and showed no signs of disease.
A commercial farm in British Columbia's Fraser Valley has been quarantined after a duck was found infected with an avian flu virus.

B.C. government officials said Friday there is no risk to human health, but the Canadian Food Inspection Agency closed off the farm as a precaution after an outbreak of avian influenza in the area in 2004.

Well after doing some research it does look like it has been in north america before but quick efforts to control the spread have stopped it in the past. I just hope it is taken care of quickly.
