Some dude on another forum said i'm a poor UV-mapper and my models basically suck, i'd like other modelers to give me some feedback...

Note, these models are low-res and made for Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, originally the AN-94 model was made for Ghost Recon.

This dude argued that I could have added the safety on the weapons instead of just texturing it on, sure I could have, but they are barely visible in game and you don't see your weapon anyway, so why should I have bothered to so?

Anway here's the pics.

Are these models really hideous as he said? those comments really hurt, I clearly said these weren't great models by any standard, but I just wanted to demonstrate I can UV-map...

Ooh I love the pistol..Is that silencer on it.. if so great for games cos the other guys always hear me coming.

Thats one huge*ss silencer if it is btw .. I love your models and think they would be great weapons to use.. Tell them to go jump or stick their own weapons where the sun don't shine.

Yeah but he claims there a 100% more accurate then mine for halflife (not sure what version).

He said his model includes every little detail, I could have added every little detail to but there was not reason since the game I made it from didn't even have them

Thanks for the kind replies, but I am still awaiting a modeler to comment, i'm sure there were some things that could have been better.

The pistol is the Mk23 SOCOM pistol, famous from games such as Metal Gear Solid, it's basically a heavilly modified USP Pistol, the picture has it with a Knight Armanent Silencer an a Laser Aiming Module...

i modelled and UV mapped and textured more polys than i care to admit

yes you can UV map
, the only thing is your textures look very low res, but that of course depends what engine you are doing this for.
Good for HL1, sucky if its for HL2 engine

ps: always make your textures big and then when you are done painting them lower the resolution to the engine size, that way youll get to keep more detail on the textures, use photographs if you want to make realistic textures
