To the non believer , all who claim to be christian are christians. (because they are ignorant of Christ)
That said, with the growth of the O.S.A.S. (once saved always saved no matter what I do) and the Unitarian (God would never send anyone or thing to hell for eternity because He loves us too much) you may just see a growth of this very idea.
I mean, what better way to teach those nasty muslims a lesson then to get saved as a unitarian an then fly a 757 into mecca at ramadan. I would think its only a matter of time if something else doesnt happen first. (such as the gog-magog war)

Just a thought. I wonder if global security would be able to cope if there were Christian extremists, or even Buddhist extremists.

And before anybody makes the point.....we're all aware of GWB's religious leaning and yes I suppose he is an extremist.

Any thoughts?

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"
- some smart person

We lost two buildings.

We responded by invading 2 countries.

None of the 19 perpetrators were from either country we overthrew.

Americans (the majority) then chose to re-elect GWB.

What does this tell the rest of the world about Americans?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The first invention of weapon of mass destruction mankind made was the "army".

We overthrew Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction.

Now, we can leave when we teach them to be an effective army?

Extremism is good and bad, dependant upon our intentions and our perseptions.

Just a slightly twisted way of looking at it, I guess.

I know certain teachings of Islam glorify suicide killing for there Jihad, so i guess the big difference is in the teachings, other religions wouldnt do it for fear of going to hell?

Those are not True Muslim™ teachings! Those who teach or practice such things are therefor not Muslims. Thus, there are no Muslim extremists.

The meme is responsible for its fruits.

Are you saying that Muhammed did not justify holy war in the quran?

That is what Muslim apologists will tell you, and of course, they are the only True Muslims™ from their perspective.

While we stew on the violence in the Qu'ran, give some thought to this Bible passage:

Joshua 10:40-41: "So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded. And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon."

I would tend to think that 'extremist' is somewhat of a loner's description.

There is safety in numbers, and moderation/temperance of a sort, also. Peer pressure's good side?
