I don't remember all of it, but here it goes:
When Alexander the Great was traveling to ?, he heard of a puzzle in which the solver would rule the world (?)
He went to where the puzzle was. A priest or guardian of the Knot told him "Whomever unties the knot shows intelligence to become........."
(or words to that extent)
Alexander examined the knot, drew his sword, and cut it in half.
