Yesterday i was at a seafood restrant on the water where fishing ships dock. One of the boats had quite a gathering around it so i went to look and they had caught 5 small (100-150 lbs my guess) great white sharks . Now i thought Great whites were cold water sharks the guys said they caught them 2 miles off the coast in 80 degree water.
i will never swim again enough shark bites around here now

The great white is chiefly a continental, near-shore fish of the world’s temperate seas. It does not avoid the tropics (especially large individuals), but may make only sporadic appearances in some regions, especially Central America, tropical South America and the central Pacific islands. Many records from isolated areas show that it is capable of ranging widely and even crossing ocean basins.

Great White Sharks can be found worldwide, but they are usually not so common there. Probably these were young specimens that eat fish rather than sea mammals (and also try to stay away from their older relatives
).
