Story
TOKYO — Two teenage boys who took the antiviral drug Tamiflu exhibited abnormal behavior that led to their deaths, with one jumping in front of an
oncoming truck last year and the other falling from the ninth floor of a building earlier this year, health ministry and other sources said
Saturday.
The drug in Japan carries a note listing impaired consciousness, abnormal behaviors, hallucination and other psychological and neurological symptoms
as possible serious side effects.

Not that I was considering this drug anyway, but this kind of thing should be very worrying for anyone who wants to take it. People cannot sue for
vaccines. Does that hold true for Rumsfeld's favorite drug as well?

All medicine will have it's side effects. It's sad but some people can fall victim to drugs despite vigorous testing by the FDA.
It takes many years to even get the drug to the costumer. You can't except everyone to handle it.
And this bird flu...it's called media hype

If it works for him outside the bunker we should all be safe.

Confirms my view that the safest route is all natural antivirals and simple avoidance.
One question I have is why they would have been taking the drug in the first place... Was there widespread use of Tamiflu in Japan?

There's a special on the Discovery Channel right now. They say Tamiflu is perfectly safe.
Perfectly?
As in NO side effects? I wonder why they are pushing this..

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Those "side effects" are serious. And NO way would they be listed if they weren't a very real possibility.

This just reeks with suspicion...
Who Profits?
The fundamental issue is who owns the intellectual property rights over Tamiflu. The media reports suggest that the Swiss pharmaceutical company
Roche will make billions.
While the drug is produced by Roche, it was developed by Gilead Sciences Inc.which owns the intellectual property rights. Gilead, which has maintained
a low profile, has outsourced the production to Roche.
Donald Rumsfeld was appointed Chairman of Gilead Sciences, Inc. in 1997, a position which he held in the years prior to becoming Secretary of
Defense.in the Bush adminstration. Rumsfeld had been on the Board of Directors from the establishment of Gilead in 1987.

Does make you wonder...
Chenny with Haliburton and Rumsfeld with Tamiflu.

That's a really interesting question, sofi.
I use tea tree oil soap for lots of things, and tea tree oil, too. It works. I wonder what it can, or can't do in this case.

Well I'm going to use it. It can't do any harm. ...Have been mixing it with eucalyptus in a diffuser for years, whenever anyone is sick at our house
- seems to do the trick very well.
I'll run a few searches and see what I can find. Also, someone just posted that H5N1 triggers what is a major allergic asthma response - so
antihistamines will be well worth trying, as well as a Chinese medicine called "Lo Han Quo."
Also, just found this:
May, 2005:Herbal Extract inhibits TH1
cytokines and promotes TH2 cytokines in vitro.
(The allergic response involves cytokines.)

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a truly amazing essential oil. It is antiseptic, antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal. Tea tree oil is an effective immune stimulant.
It is a mild pain reliever - analgesic - when applied to a fresh wound or minor burn.

I use this for just about everything! On me and my dogs.

I agree with you here, lets give to Rumsfeld and then wait for the results.
By the way we can not sue anymore remember
I use tea tree oil when my dogs are shedding to keep them from itching.
It's very good stuff for rashes.

Yes, for cleaning and laundry - but make sure you get it into your lungs too. Use it in a diffuser or in a pot on the stove, and in your bath -
breathe a lot. DON'T put it in a humidifier. It eats the seals and makes them disintegrate. (Ask me how I know that. )

I dilute it in olive oil to use on my dogs. One is allergic to fleas and we had some fleas this summer. It's really very strong.
From that page I linked:
Research so far (as well as anecdotal evidence) shows tea tree oil to be an effective and powerful antiseptic, disinfectant, antifungal, antibiotic
and antiviral substance, while displaying no harmful side effects when used appropriately.

Be sure to read how and how much to use.
