So year ago today Yasser Arafat died in France after leaving his compound in Israel. What will this mean to the situation in France and why did he Choose France to pass asway in? Is there something else here?

I think the answer is three-fold.

Better medical facilities.
A more secure environment.
And his money - ill gotten though it is - is more accesible.

Not to mention his love of publicity.
