Ugh. That sentance reads like you are proud of the sniper.
Please delete this trash. I watched it and it made my blood boil.
Not to mention I have a brother who is about to go to Iraq in a brand new unit, "The walking dead".

I notices that he wounds his targets rather than killing them, even one of the shots was to the leg if Im not wrong. this could be considered both an upside or a downside depending on where you look at it. Im sure his talent is out of question since he "is" a sniper and have hours of experience with it and I dont think if someone is stepping into that scene with a sniper riffle doesnt know where to land his bullet consciously, if that was the case he would miss at least half of them. besides accuracy comes with experience which he has, so the point of him being a badshot and with that reason he is only able to wound his tagets, is not sound.
it doesnt differ in terms of outcome if he kills or wounds a soldier because, if he kills the soldier that soldier is out of the scene and if he wounds the soldier that soldier is also out of the scene shipped back to mainland. so maybe, Im saying " maybe " here the sniper is going for the wound only method. you may think about the deahtoll, why should he chose to wound instead of kill thus not raising the deathtoll then, well maybe he knows that the numbers could be tampered with.
reverse the situation if you lack the virtue of empathy:
the iraqis invaded the USA with a false claim of them posessing antimatter bombs and them being a threat to the world peace. and eventually and apparently they suceeded and installed a puppet government which would fight against the local insurgents ( American patriots in this case) under the name of USA Government. and one of the insurgents, say a boy from TX equips his sniper riffle and shoots the iraqi soldiers but not to kill just to wound, in this reverse situation would you prefer him to kill them raher than wound. well I actually would respect this desicion as Im sure the family and friends of the wounded also would.
choosing sides blinds so many people, and with the cost of just reasoning.

No, you have a video of a Palestinian being taken out by Israeli tank. That is an old video.
War is not a place for sense... Nothing makes sense in a war..
Give this man a cigar. This is one of the smartest statements Ive ever seen posted in these forums.

Ram: Now you are just scaring me.
They have never seen Juba. They hear him, but by then it's too late: a shot rings out and another US soldier slumps dead or wounded.
There is never a follow-up shot, never a chance for US forces to identify the origin, to make the hunter the hunted. He fires once and vanishes.
Juba is the nickname given by American forces to an insurgent sniper operating in southern Baghdad. They do not know his appearance, nationality or real name, but they know and fear his skill.
"He's good," said Specialist Travis Burress, 22, a sniper with the 1-64 battalion based in Camp Rustamiyah. "Every time we dismount I'm sure everyone has got him in the back of their minds. He's a serious threat to us."
Gun attacks occasionally pepper the battalion's foot and mounted patrols, but the single crack of what is thought to be a Tobuk sniper rifle inspires particular dread.
Since February, the killing of at least two members of the battalion and the wounding of six more have been attributed to Juba. Some think it is also he that has picked off up to a dozen other soldiers.
In a war marked by sectarian bombings and civilian casualties, Juba is unusual in targeting only coalition troops, a difficult quarry protected by armoured vehicles, body armour and helmets.
He waits for soldiers to dismount, or stand up in a Humvee turret, and aims for gaps in their body armour, the lower spine, ribs or above the chest. He has killed from 200 metres away.
"It was the perfect shot," the battalion commander, Lt Col Kevin Farrell, said of one incident. "Blew out the spine.
"We have different techniques to try to lure him out, but he is very well trained and very patient. He doesn't fire a second shot."
Pfc. Stephen Tschiderer, a native of Mendon, N.Y., and a medic with E
Troop, 101st “Saber” Cavalry Division, attached to 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry
Regiment, 256th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, was shot in the
chest by an enemy sniper, during a routine patrol in west Baghdad.
While Tschiderer was relaying information to the truck commander of his
M114 Humvee, an enemy sniper team prepared to engage him from inside of a
cushioned silver van being used as a mobile sniper’s nest. This nest was lined
with numerous bed mattresses to muffle the sound of a Dragonoff sniper rifle
fired through a hole just big enough for the shooter to engage his target of
choice.
Tschiderer was knocked to the ground from the sudden impact of the
sniper’s bullet. The bullet only seemed to have fazed this Soldier as, adrenaline
pumping, he sprang right back up in order to take cover and locate the enemy’s
position.
The sniper was unsuccessful in his mission, due to the stopping force of
the Tschiderer’s daily wardrobe, his protective body armor, which saved his life.
“I knew I was hit, but was uncertain of the damage or location from the
hit,” Tschiderer said. “The only thing that was going through my mind was to take
cover and locate the sniper’s position.”
“The shot came from my 12 o’clock position from a silver van parked
across an intersection about 75 meters from my location.” said Tschiderer.
Due to his heroic actions and quick decisions, Tschiderer located the
enemy while he took cover and alerted the rest of his team on patrol. As the
Saber team engaged and disabled the sniper’s position, two terrorists fled on
foot, leaving a blood trail that came from the wounds of the enemy sniper.
A cordon and search was immediately set up and Tschiderer assisted his
team in the search of the two terrorists. The driver of the silver vehicle was
detained by a team from B Co. 3-156th Inf. Bn. while Tschiderer and a team from
B Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Iraqi Army Brigade, continued to follow the blood
trail which led them to the yard where the wounded sniper lay in pain.
