WMD'swere found in 2003.................

Mustard gas and cyanide have been found in river water in the Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, coalition forces said yesterday.

The poisonous substances are believed to have been dumped in the Euphrates either by Iraqi soldiers fleeing from American troops or local factories that produced weapons of mass destruction.

The convenience of quoting old reports that have never been followed up.

I just scanned through every Centcom press briefing for the first half of April, and the cyanide in the river thing is not mentioned once. I doubt they would forget, or play it down, if the entire nation's water supply was poisoned. Every news story quotes the same MSNBC source. It didn't happen.

Repeat, the only thing ever found that remotely qualifies as WMD was a single sarin shell plus a few Al Samoud missiles, although that doesn't really count as Iraq was destroying them on schedule until the US dropped in.

Key issue is had. By 1995, not much of that was left. Further, he no longer had the nuclear technology. Chemical and biological yes, nuclear no.
