I guess the garlic bread reference doesn't work if you don't know the name Brian Potter. Any more explanation than that would just be very tedious for you and leave you none the wiser (a UK sitcom of exceptional quality - beats 'the office' hands down)

Just a few tidbits on the record flight.

The plane was towed to the runway to take off and that saved 2000lbs of fuel

The plane was washed prior to take off and that saved 350 lbs by washing off the accumulated grime

The flight team wanted to use "energy dense" fuel that comes from the Shell plant in martinez, California and had it trucked up to Boeing field to fuel the jet. However, getting fuel to Honk Kong was a logisitical nightmare so when they landed in HK 1/3 of the energetic fuel was left the rest was plain old HK aviation fuel.

With them going to such lengths as that they deserve to hold the record for quite some time!
