and you say if you want more money go to college. this poses another problem, what does it take to get to college? MONEY! unless you are get schlorships for which i was unable (not because of my neglect or anything before you start finding reasons to bash me). i can't live at home, i don't have that option. so where is one suppose to go?

Yeah, Soviet Communism was ruled by dictators, unlike North Korean Communism, Chinese Communism, Cuban Communism...wait...they're all the same!

No that you have cried about your woes, on your computer that is hooked to the www, get over it. Or, as Dennis Leary would say, "Shut the fark up, next!"
Put a little more time into figuring out a way to succeed instead of whining about your struggles and failures. Your job ain't cuttin' it? Get a different one. Stop by the state employment agency, look at AIDT programs or JTPA. If you are in such a bind as you say, you are either irresponsible with your money or you are in a low-paying job. If your job is low paying, you probably qualify for JTPA assistance to a 2 year training program.

I've gone through some rough times and have the scars to show for it, I've been to the bottom of the economical trash heap, and am trying to get ahead. I'll never be "wealthy" or anything like it, but I work hard, work as smart as a mediocre-minded person can, and have no desire to divide my money and assets with people who'd rather eat off my plate than fix a plate for themselves.

Are you just wanting to eat off my plate, or do you fancy yourself a potential member of the ruling party?

Thats great, at least someone willing to stand up and say lets change the whole system instead of advocating socialist protocols on a capitalist economy and wondering why the hell it doesn't work or refusing to acknowledge it doesn't work and blaming it's results on something else.

Let me guess, you're under the impression it has never work because the right people haven't tried it and let me further guess the right person is you. You are all knowing and can make all decisions that are best for the population and while they may enjoy the lavish lifestyle of community housing in facilities likened to today's storage units and belly up to their local community pot for their serving of gruel each night after a 12 hour day devoted to toil for thier emperor, I think I'll pass on it okay? Hope I didn't hurt your feelings or squash your thurst for power and control over every little friggin thing. I take it that you envision yourself in that .05% of the people who benefit from communism and not the 99.05% that are enslaved to pay for it. Let me just ask you...what do you think the chances are that you make it into that demograph? If your rich and powerful already, I can see where you would have a good chance and already be holier than though but if you're an avergae shmuck like most of us, I'm afraid you're a bit disalusioned. Yeah, i know you're gonna come bak with all this "No one has ever really tried true communism" crap and sp has every other oppresive ruler who has ever ushered it in. You're no different than they and your lust for power and control is extinquished by the liberty of capitalism. Thats your true problem with it isn't it. The fact is, a simple post on a message board changes nothing and does nothing to further your goals. Reality still awaits you every morning.

Strigoi, you don't have to defend yourself for starting this thread. As you said, this is the mudpit, just remember that the mud sometimes gets thrown at high speeds and volumes, you gotta be tough down here!

Communism looks good on paper because on paper you can figure out the one thing that in reality insures it will not work - the human effect. As long as we are humans, communism will never work.

The people who smoke their revolvers, massage their arms with razors or chase pidgeons out highrise windows don't do it because of capitalism, they do it because they have deep seated psychological problems. People who "don't have a place in life" probably have problems, too. What, do you think its that easy? Just have the government drive up, pick up the mumbler, make him go to school to be a computer geek or an accountant and then put him to work? Seriously.

Lookit, I know it takes money to go to college. That's why I tok student loans and worked full time. I don't need anyone telling me it can't be done, and I am a bit harsh with people who lay out weak excuses for their weak drive. MAybe that seems cold-hearted, but I think the true sin is allowing people to wallow in such weakness and become useless. Strength and drive is what drives someone to success.
I work for a company that was started by a guy from the Soviet Union. He came to a country that had a system that rewarded talent and ingenuity and people who were willing to create reality from their dream. The company is Sikorsky Aircraft, and the guy's name was Igor. I'm sure glad he didn't buy into the communist line!

Oh my, your post is funny, although there has been no successful form of communism, you merely refer to "Stalinism" or Leninism", as if they are subsets or something. Go ahead and list every other form. ever tried, going back to when the first Europeans on the North American continent almost starved the first winter because the morons tried to go against human nature and use that pipe dream.

Oh, but you have the answer to making it work, I'm sure.

You, my friend, seem to be misinformed, as you refer to economic systems as systems of government. Democracy doesn't mean everyone has equal control of everything. If your teacher is telling you that, drop out and go to work. They are obviously not preparing you for anything, anyway.

By the way, dumbell, nobody said anything about hogging and not sharing. Most of us don't need a "Party Chairman" to tell us to share. What you advocate is a Party Chairman to steal from me and give to someone who didn't earn it, and as far as I know, aren't deserving of it. I give plenty, and that isn't only confined to what the liberals take and reallocate to others.
Funny, people are more than happy to talk about sharing when the sharing is being done with other peoples' money.

But hey, prove me wrong, go start your own country somewhere and show us how its done. But forget your economics project in this country. Those who want to work and get ahead can do so and it seems to work just fine. I'm sure you can get several people who don't want to participate in our "Be All You Can Be" system that will be more than happy to go with you.
