I really don't get the type of advertising that we see on web sites. For the most part the adds I see are scams (eg. free iPod) or meeting people online.

Why are the adds not like what we see on TV? Adds for detergent, McDonalds and new movies?

I really don't get it. Is there a reason why online advertising is so much different than Television advertising?
Can anyone explain this to me?
