This Preview is intended to serve as a quick guide to the major initiatives and referenda on the ballot in November. Keep in mind that due to various court actions, some of these initiatives may not appear on the final ballot. We have also included a final section on the major issue areas we will be following in the 2006 election cycle.

We have the New York City mayoral race -- that's a pretty big one. Looks like Bloomberg (R) will win easy re-election. I'm a Republican but don't like him because he banned smoking in the bars so I plan on voting on the marijuana green candidate or some other 3rd party (could never get myself to vote for a Dem and certainly don't want one anyway).
