Another Day in the Empire

As it turns out, Michael Moore owns Halliburton stock. Joseph Farah’s website expects us to be surprised and angered by such hypocrisy. However, this “revelation,” one of many featured in a book by Peter Schweizer, is not surprising, nor are other insights into the disingenuous behavior of Nancy Pelosi, Noam Chomsky, Barbra Streisand, Ralph Nader, and other so-called liberals and Democrats.

Anybody with two brain cells to rub together who is capable of reading a newspaper realizes Mikey is a hypocrite—or more accurately, a conflicted liberal.

I thought this was an excellent blog entry. It shows the hypocrisy of the Left and the fact that Republicans and Democrats are flip sides of the same coin. It goes on to point out that more wars have been started by Democrats than Republicans, though it doesn't say anything that would back up the claim.

His documentary was true?? Maybe 10% of it, I highly suggest you obtain a copy of FahrenHype 911. Some of the things he did in his 'documentary' will blow your mind, they range from misrepresentations, to outright lies.

My personal favorite is the anti-Bush newspaper article that's presented in the movie. He makes it appear that it was in a newspaper called the Pentagraph and was titled "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won Election." However, anybody who goes and tries to find it...will not find it. He took a letter to the editor from a reader of the newspaper, edited it so it looked like a news article, moved it to the top of a page with a bold headline and changed the date at the top of the page.

Check out this link and/or the movie Fahrenhype 911 if you're actually interested, it's a start:Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit 9/11

Regardless of your political affiliation, avoid Mr. Moore, he's a documented liar. There are plenty of sources who will give you negative information on Bush to feed on who don't have to lie or present you with false documents they created.

Edit: Fixed minor grammar error.

I also believe he's a shill. I think he's one of those who gets paid to perpetuate the left vs. right feud. He's just good for spreading misinformation.

I believe BushCo had its dirty little hands in 9/11. Moore seems to be trying to point people away from that.

I read Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit 9/11 and I was absolutely flabbergasted that Moore could get away with such libel. That man should be tried and shot for sedition and cooperating with the enemy. That man is the scum of the earth but thankfully he will probably die from a heart attack in few years time as he is so fat.

What, are we taking orders from the Mullahs now?

The more honest you guys are, the more you remind me of the very people we're fighting. Exchange Michael Moore with Salman Rushdie, and 9/11 with the Satanic Verses...and what exactly does that make you?

You're either incredibly young and immature, or you're incredibly insane.

Either way, you strike me as a particularily angry individual.

Sorry, didn't mean to appear so angry but if you follow the link you might understand why I am so disgusted with that man. Although he has the right like everyone else to say what he wants I think he should be sued for libel.

I've calmed down now and don't think he should be shot (although I wouldn't mind if he was) and I am not insane (thankyou very much).

Ohhhhhhh- you're sweet. I forgive your sins. LOL

You have to have tough skin to hang around these parts.

Take care

Has it escaped your attention that Moore has Halliburton stock? And that Cheney was CEO or something of Halliburton? So Moore is profiting off this illegal war too!

Being against a war does NOT necessarily mean you're with the enemy. I am against the war because there was no good reason for it. If they attacked us first, then yeah, go over there and bash some heads. But Iraq wasn't even a threat!

Remember--REAL Americans don't START wars!

Is nothing wrong with making money in a market that we all know who are the favorite stock to get the best for your investments.

I have never seen Moore's movie but I have seen some of his documentaries on TV and they are actually entertaining and real.

If I am link to a major corporation that benefits from the war in Iraq but I am against of the war does that makes me double face and a liar?

No really I have to work for a living and as Moore he is just making an investments were it counts.

But if you claim to hate Wal-Mart, does it really make sense for you to have Wal-Mart stock? That's what I'm getting at here.

Michael Moore is just another disinfo agent. Like I keep saying, politics is like pro wrestling. It's all an act.

When you directly state that you do not own a single share of stock...then somebody turns up that you do...yeah, that makes you a liar. As for whether or not his stern judgements on Halliburton coupled with the fact the owns Hallburton stock makes him a double face, you can make the call.

At the very least I'd think it would throw up some red flags and make you go HMMMM.

My thing is, if you don't like a company or its CEO, then why are you associating with them?

rhelt100--That's interesting, did Moore actually say he didn't have any Halliburton stock?

I thought it was pretty ok but what shocked me is that U.S. troops listen to heavy metal music while they kill and the movie made it as if they werent disciplined at all, it kind of reminds you of vietnam war. Was there a movie called fahrenhype 9/11 and you guys think hes making another one?.

Actually, what he said was this, this is a cut/paste from his book "Stupid White Men" www.penguin.co.uk... html

Ah, money. The sweet stench of success. A couple of years ago I was talking to a guy in a bar who happened to be a stockbroker. He asked me about my "investments." I told him I didn't have any, that I don't own a single share of stock. He was stunned.

"You mean you don't have a portfolio where you keep your money?"

"I don't think it's a good idea to keep your money in portfolios," I replied, "or in a briefcase, or even under the futon. I save what little I can in a place called a 'bank,' where I have what the old-timers call a 'savings account.' " He was not amused. "You're just screwing yourself," he said. "And you're being irresponsible. I remember reading you made a lot of money from your first film, right? Do you know how much you'd have today if you'd invested it in the stock market ten years ago? Probably about thirty mil."

Thirty million? Dollars? Coulda been mine? Agggghhhh!!! What was I thinking?

Why am I not suprised?

His films are full of lies and holes, it stands to reason that his life would be as well.

I'm suprised that this thread isn't getting more attention (No pun intended). It seems like when his movie came out, we had plenty of discussion on the things that it mentioned. Now that we all know he's a liar and a fraud...

Well, that's because Michael Moore has become Republican pornography, and far be it from everyone else to get in your way. You guys have some bizarre fetish with him, so rather than argue with the Freepers about the merit of Moore's work - I gadly step out of the echo chamber.

But this doesn't make him two-faced. I'm a mac fanatic, but I own HP-stock. I don't like HP, but, hey, I have it, and it's valuable. (or was) Owning stock only shows that he has a good eye for business.

In fact, I'm willing to bet this is the same thing as his membership in the NRA, or similar. Moore is a card-carrying member of the NRA. Why? Because he believes in the point of the NRA - that we should protect our rights. Does he agree with a lot of the vitriol spewed by the leaders, and vast majority (and names given to the NRA by the left)? No.

He owns stock in Haliburton, he's taking an interest in their operations. He owns a small part of the company, and can vote with his stock, and take action that most don't. This is a way for him to speak to the company in a completely legal and proper (and obnoxious) way.

He doesn't agree with the war, Bush, or Cheney. That doesn't mean Haliburton is wrong, they're just trying to make money.

And the only difference between Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh? Limbaugh was able to lose weight
