Its interesting IMHO. Looks like a road from up close that may have been abandoned, but when you zoom in Im less sure. Close up it looks like parallel pipes????

Not sure what it is at all.

I presume you're talking about the blue lines? Well if you zoom out a little, you can see they're actually more than 60-70km long.
I'd be inclined to believe that they're some error in the alignments of the maps, since it's so dead straight. However you never know... There's some quite large missile testing ranges a bit north of that in South Australia, it could be some sort of marker for that?
Good find!

If your talking about the blue lines, It looks like a computer error. But also, it could be part of their dingo fence.

Scroll west on the line and you'll see what looks like
structures. Viewing it in NASA World Wind gives several
different sat views. The rectangles look as if they cast
shadows and are therefore 3D objects on the ground,
as opposed to lines on the photographic medium. Yet
the absolute uniformity of the lines tends to suggest
it's a photographic alignment mark or other mark on
the photo itself, not on the ground.

The rectangles are very large. ~1.3 x .3 miles. Too large
for a building.

The World Wind views give a better view of the 3D
sense of those rectangles at the west end of the
lines. It's difficult to measure the dark areas west
of the rectangles that appear to be shadows. As
close as I can measure, the shadows appear to
be ~158 feet. That would be a huge structure.

If I didn't see what looks strongly like shadows,
I'd say it was film handling marks. It's pretty darn
flat out there, it appears. Difficult to see anything
that casts a shadow to use for a comparison.

There are fences or power lines about 8 miles west
of the rectangles for what that's worth.

Hrmmm.. it looks the same in GoogleEarth, so i doubt it is alignment problems.

No idea what it is though, It is kinda strange, maybe some farmer's drag strip?
