Has anyone seen any of the other pics that were taken by this camera at this location?I havent really been able to find anything...

There was something on about Amityville the other night on TV. It was the Bio channel, or A&E (I think).

Anyway, they were showing pictures of the interior of the house, and one of them was this exact photo, sans the "figure".

I'm not sure what to think about it.

It looks like the older of the two boys. Don't forget there were also two girls killed in the incident.I think one was 15 yearsold and the other was 5 or 6?

Ok I ran across this thread playing around at work hopefully its still active. Heres the deal I live in Stafford Va. In March of 1978 a very similar event happened in a nearby county. The family was the Gavis family. Basically what happened is Chris Gavis shot and killed most of his family in the same maner as the Defeo murders. He claims to have been possesed and that the house was haunted. After the murders some of the surviving childeren moved into the house and some pretty strange things happened. Eventually the two childeren went nuts and dug their fathers grave up to retrieve some gold tooth filings. The whole story is very crazy I have posted links. There is not much info out there to find on this.

Strange...first time I heard of that. It sure didn't get any press in my neck of the woods.
You would think that Lutz's death would be worthy of some sort of national press. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

I think its very important that whoever is researching this find out the religiuos affiliations (if any) of the current and past owners of the house.. Maybe there is a connection between religion and hauntings.. Maybe the current owners are atheist, causing the spirits to be less defensive towards their presence..

Any info on this?

Hey Everyone

I spent this morning going over this entire thread. A lot here have touched on a lot of good issues and points of interest. First, let me state that my family comes from a long line of old Scottish witch's and paranormal empathy stems in a lot of us. No, I have no great power like the charmed girls, well, actually...I am very in tuned to "Places" and by accounts of my great Grandmother, I can time walk and absorb events of places. ...Let me get back on track.

1. The Red Room - Whether there is one or not, this would have nothing at all to do with Witchcraft. People of the Craft would normally not try and surface an entity such the possible ones of this Amityville House. If anything, a Witch would try and keep the un-rested or unsettled at bay! If so, this room would have been painted white. Even those few who may attempt to bide the rules of nature, or un-nature, would not have used red as a correspondence.

2. Someone mentioned a face in the banister - Yes... you saw it too.. After blowing it up, directly below the boy's chin where the pole starts... are numerous, agonizing faces... blow it up in that area until you see them... If truth be told of this place, then I would be more concerned with them than that of the child. I can't give an opinion on the validity, I have not been in the home myself.

3. Who is the boy? - It is definitely not one of the Defeo boys. I did a facial scan of both boys in feature comparison with that of the boy in the photo... Neither of the Defeo boys facial structure matches. The eye sockets, not or jaw line. Nor do the brows or skeletal dome.

4. Is the picture Rigged? - Like y'all, I can't be certain, but allow me to explain some interesting notions.

* Infer red, when inverted, would change the color...Each filter I used, came up with the same glowing white... which in theory, would be what would be captured from such an anomaly.
* Cropping really isn't evident. Yes, you can blow it up until you get what appears to be cropping, but only at very high resolutions.. abnormally high resolutions.
* Each abstracted filter shows the same pattern, which would be consistent with an actual presence, alive or deceased, as being part of the picture.
* Yes, that is the boys hand, holding the pole of the banister... oddly and unexplainable transparent.

My Take on the picture! - Ghostly? Possible! If the child is alive and is propped...he's a hell'va actor, capturing what I perceive as a lifeless soul in limbo.

I'd love to discuss similar situations, so if anyone could direct me to a suitable thread... I'll treat you to some of my experience with this. I also have some interesting photos, non Amityville, I'd love to share.

You can see that the image is the apparition of the younger Defoe. It is great how they were able to photograph him. If anything it proves to the sceptic that life does exist beyond death.

It seems apparent that the young boy doesn't know he is dead. When I first saw the photo and knew of the story, it gave me the chills.

I bled the darkness with a graphics tool and you can judge for yourself if the imagery under the blackness holds any weight.




Using the glowing edges filter and blowing the picture up from 15 to 50, it looks as though he is holding a teddy bear... kind of eerie, for whatever its worth.




Ok, this is from the banister... but once you start blowing the size of graphics to astronumical sizes, seeing images is as easy as looking into the head of a lit cigarette and seeing demons...LOL But it's kind of freaky anyway.

I think by now all believers know this photo is the best proof to date......
Espeically if you know the full story.
Whether or not Kathy and George made up the the story is debatable,I personally believe them,what is not debatable is that the murders are true and so one might expect unrest in the house.


Maybe Ronald Defao was not possessed by a demon (The devil) but the murders did take place as documented in many links on this thread.

Whatever the truth behind the photo and 112 ocean ave lets hope all concerned rest in peace.

You know what I was thinking about the other day, the demonic can take many forms. Remember in the story there was a demonic pig with red eyes named Jody that befriended one of the daughters. I wonder if that little boy is just another manifestation of the same demon?

I think that Jodi manifested itself as a pig just to scare the parents when they looked out the window. i think that when jodi wasnt in pig form she was in little girl form.
